A: The Garmin nüvi 2589LMT will provide verbal feedback when you use the Voice Command feature. When you find an address using that feature, it will say something like "Did you mean..." and say the address back to you. Also, the device is ready to use right when you take it out of the box. All you need to do to power it is connect it to the vehicle power cable that come packaged with it. Q: Which garmin gps gives you the best traffic alert when coming upon traffic congestion?
A: The 2589 gives you traffic alerts, but only where it has coverage. For example, I was on I95 in South Carolina and the traffic came to a halt. But no notification from my 2589. I went on the Garmin site after I got back and found out that that section of I95 doesn't have traffic coverage. I would have thought that ALL Interstates had that, but I was mistaken.

A: The nuvi 2589LMT will support SD or SDHC cards up to 32GB. If the card is 32GB or smaller, it should be in FAT32 format. -JPK

A: The Garmin nüvi 2589LMT allows you to select an option labeled "Change Route" which will give you several options to change the route such as "Detour", "Detour by Distance", and "Detour by Road". The device will also allow you to preset the navigation settings to avoid different types of roads such as carpool lanes, and toll roads. Regarding street names and towns, the device will display the name of the street being driven on, however it will not show the name of the town being driven in on the map. However if the map is zoom out enough the name of the town/city will be visible on the map. {CW}

A: There are multiple ways to create and edit a route on the nüvi 2589LMT, such as using the Trip Planner feature, detour options, and/or changing route preferences.
