• The 2589 gives you traffic alerts, but only where it has coverage. For example, I was on I95 in South Carolina and the traffic came to a halt. But no notification from my 2589. I went on the Garmin site after I got back and found out that that section of I95 doesn't have traffic coverage. I would have thought that ALL Interstates had that, but I was mistaken.

• The devices with LMTHD in the model number give the best traffic information. The acronym stands for LifeTime Maps and Traffic HD. The HD traffic will refresh its traffic alerts every 30 seconds compared to standard traffic that refreshes every 5 minutes.
