• The nuvi 2589LMT will support SD or SDHC cards up to 32GB. If the card is 32GB or smaller, it should be in FAT32 format. -JPK

• I'd go with an 8 GB, haven't had the need for it yet though

• Before purchasing the card really look at the awesome units Garmin makes. We have used every unit on the market and garmin has massive amounts of memory compared to other manufacturers. ☆☆You can Google how to do this but you can triple your memory space by removing other languages vehicles. Pick one voice in one language with one car icon and remove the rest. Easy to do just hook up your computer and follow Google directions. We have made thousands by buying only garmin
