I purchased this to replace my existing Garmin GPS. I like the new features and the lifetime maps and traffic. Lifetime updates are the way to go to keep your GPS up to date and not need to pay additional for updates.

Works a lot like the older models, but has a better touch screen.

The GPS set up easily and downloaded all the current maps. I have used it going across the state and it has never steered me wrong. The split screen feature is spot on exact when you come to freeway exit or merge points.

I updated to newer model. This GPS system is a nice addition.

I've had a bunch of garmin gps over the last 10 years and this one is another job well done. You don't even have to touch the screen anymore, just talk to it and it will take you where you wanna go. Really nice unit

It is the easiest GPS I have ever owned. Fresh out of the box it took us front North Dakota to DC. It is intuitive. GARMIN OUT DID IT'S SELF.on this product. I have always used the nuvi products but this this is great

I picked up a Garmin unit when I started traveling a lot more for work. Using my phone for GPS is great, but sometimes I need a dedicated unit. I read tons of reviews and found the 2589 to be the best bang for the buck.

I would recommend this to any of my friends who needs a gps.

We had an older Garmin GPS and replaced it with the newer model just before going on a cross country trip. It worked fantastic, is easy to use and I like the Bluetooth phone feature. It is well worth the money.

I really like the voice command feature and I can tell it what I want and never take my eyes off the road. It shows upcoming gas stations and places to eat and even warns when approaching a school zone. Love it!

Gps has great functions, but does have trouble turning on in the cold.

I have had a number of Garmin's and this one is my favorite to date; given 5 inch size and turn guidance's, and lifetime maps/traffic. It has worked great over two years and I am very pleased.

I was debating between google map/navigation and a car GPS before I traveled to Hawaii. Since it's unclear to me whether google would function when there was no cell reception, I decided to shop a car GPS. This one seemed to have seved its purpose. I was able to use it in Oahu and Maui without any issue. It guided correctly in majority of the locations I searched for. Search function is quick and responsive. It provides many local attractions. It could also switch to alternative route after I missed and exit. Voice is loud and clear. Route is clear. It also correctly displays speed limit and my vehicle spped. Only suggestion I would make is if it could show navigation history. It does show search history. I highly recommend it.

Bought this for a friend. He loves the nuvi. Great product for the price

Voice recognition and voice navigation of the menu and menu choices vastly improved over my Seven year old Magellan. Great value, it lived up to expectations.... so much better than messing with phone driven apps.
