This was a replacement for an older Tom Tom that was great but its sound got spotty with age ( I rely more on verbal directions rather than visual). I chose Garmin this time as most of my friends have them, & this unit had very good reviews & due to the fact that I couldn't find a Tom Tom unit with enough decent reviews. So I decided to give Garmin a chance. So far it hasn't disappointed me & I hope it doesn't for the time I will own it.

This GPS is easy for the young and old drivers. Gives you total view of the roads you need to take.

Garmin always been a great road tracker, as my first GPS bought, it was indeed was I was hoping for.

Much better than my 255. The 2589 worked perfectly right out of the box. Happy I made the purchase.

With my cell phone having Google maps I wasn't sure how good the Garmin would be. The Garmin works best with addresses. You can use Google maps for the address. After you put in the address you can push italicized I to save the address. The garmin works very well, at some interchange's, even has a split screen with a photo to help identify you direction you should take. I added a 16 gig micro SD card for saving addresses.

I had the same GPS for 20 years and it finally gave out I got this one and I love it it works great

I've owned multiple units . But bought this one to use on a recent trip to Canada. Worked perfectly.

I bought this GPS to replace a TomTom unit that I've had for the past three years. The lifetime map updates that this unit came with was the feature that prompted me to purchase this one. The price was good, the voice commands are loud and clear, and the visuals are very sharp. It's worked great on the 4 out of state trips that I've used it on. The features are much easier to navigate than the ones on the TomTom unit that I replaced.

Replaced my old GPS with this unit, a little hard to figure out everything it can do, but works pretty well.

Works well, easy set up. Far more economical than adding buying the built in unit from the auto manufacturer.

I got this for the live traffic updates so hopefully I won't be sitting in traffic as much as I used to.

With the price tag, this is one of the best product. 5 inch best to look and easily configured

I wasn't easy to understand at first, but after I played around with it it became a little easier to program

I have two older model Garmin GPS units and needed to get a 3rd for my kids' car. After some initial issues getting the unit updated, it works like a charm, as I would expect from Garmin. This model has a few updates that are great. The revised "next exit" shows closest gas, food and rest areas as a pop-up along the right side of the screen so you can keep it up while being able to see the map. All in all, I am quite happy with it.
