Disappointed previous-Garmin owner

Big mistake. Maybe we should have gotten an up-scale model, because our last Garmin worked well. But this one insists on taking us to unpaved roads (yes, my settings are okay), not giving us heads-up before required turns, not able to find many places, and sending us to places that are now defunct. We're debating: should we get a higher-level model or just give up? I would not recommend this particular model.

I was surprised that it didn't have traffic, the last unit I had did, but I purchased it any way. I recommend buying a unit with traffic installed.

Regarding your device providing directions which took more time, first off we are sorry this occurred and secondly we would encourage you to check the navigation settings on the device to ensure it is set up the way that should provide you with the most desired routes. Lastly, since your device comes with the nuMaps Lifetime subscription, we would also recommend to update the mapping on the device. You may use Garmin Express to update the firmware and mapping. If you don't have this program, please visit www.garmin.com/express to download and install this program to a compatible computer.
Regarding the traffic feature on your device and your previous device, Garmin labels all of the automotive devices with either "LM", "LMT" or possibly "LMTHD". Each letter or set of letters represent a feature. The "L" stands for lifetime. The "M" stands for maps. Lastly the "T" stands for traffic. Any time you see LMT it will have lifetime maps and traffic. Your device has "LM" which means it comes with lifetime maps but no traffic feature.
We appreciate the recommendation for getting the traffic feature on the device and for future reference we recommend to find one with "T" in the name.

In my limited tests so far, it did an excellent job of finding a location or business. It has a good library of sites and locations of businesses, hotels, gas stations, etc., near a designated destination.
