I've used non-OEM ink before and it IS cheaper. But it also ruined my nice printer. No more. I only use OEM ink and it's proven to be quality ink. Go for the XL and search for the best prices to do a price match, if needed, as prices change all the time.

While print cartridges are expensive, this XL version is worth the price. I like purchasing my print cartridges from Best Buy. Price seems to be comparable to other sites. The XL lasts a long time for my infrequent printing needs.

I find it best to use the brand name ink cartridges, clearer, less clogging and while more expensive well worth the extra money.

What can I say. It's an ink cartridge. Fits in our 8600 pro printer and after putting it in the low ink warning went away. Print quality is good. Cartridge is on track to print rated number of pages. Will buy again when the low ink warning rears its ugly head.

Best Buy seems to give the best deal on genuine ink, which is what I prefer to use since I've had some bad luck with 3rd party ink/toner. Hate buying ink, but the 15% off ink for members with a 2$ trade in credit for old cartridges takes a little of the pain off.

The XL cartridges are great for routine black-and-white print jobs, the ink lasts a long time for our home printing needs. (This one lasts longer than the standard size color cartridges that we rarely use.)

You really have to pay for the highest grade ink and HP has been taking advantage of this since the get-go! I use my printer throughout the day and the cost of ink costs me a fortune. But like I said, it is the best ink. PAY PAY PAY.

I purchased the XL cartridge because it is the best buy for the money. I can get almost 3 times as much printing from the Xl as I can from the regular cartridge. Besides, you are not running out of ink so quickly.

The HP 950XL black ink cartridge is somewhat more expensive than the HP 950, but since it contains double the ink it is well worth the price increase.

I use the 950/951 inks for my home office all-in-one and the XL cartridges last a long time and deliver highly consistent quality. I especially like that the cartridges don't use the traditional ink connection found in earlier HP printers and don't try out at all!

Although you could get these delivered to your door by Amazon, I preferred to get my hands on one, bring it home, install it and end this little task in a half hour. Best Buy was gracious enough to match the on line price, so it was all good.

I’m always satisfied with HP ink cartridges. They have a straightforward installation. I’ve never experienced any quality issues. And the ink performs predictably well on various paper types.

Not much to say, other than this is the required ink for my printer. Just wish that I could use the printer with Black ink and not have to buy the colored too, but that's more of an issue with printer design. ink works like it's supposed to though.

This is the XL High-Yield Ink Cartridge that has more than twice the ink than the regular cartridge at less than twice the price. Do the math. Regular cartridge produces 1000 pages for ~$27 and this produces 2300 pages for only ~$38. What's not to love about this?
