I followed the directions and checked the device in my kitchen before going to hook it up in the garage. But the downloaded app could not find the device! I rebooted the phone, deleted and reinstalled the app, but nothing worked. So, I returned it and got a refund. I really wanted it to work dang it!

Thank you for your feedback and trying the Insignia garage door controller. This device can be setup and connected to your wifi network using the Apple Home app. You may have tried the setup using the Insignia Connect app which currently does not support the garage controller. If you have an iOS device, simply download the Apple Home app and use it to configure the device using a 2.4Ghz network. It opened the garage door one time and then stopped responding. It constantly says, closing... while the door is open or closed. When it goes into that mode, it's essentially not functioning and then you have to operate it manually. Installation is easy but no point when it doesn't work! What a waste of time and money. P.S. No wifi issues, I have a Wifi6 router less than 100 ft away from the device.

Still constant "This accessory is not responding" message in Home app. Have attempted to troubleshoot with Insignia-- agent disconnected from call when I asked for troubleshooting help. Don't have time for something like this to just not work out of the box.
