The lights are way too dim. It's not very user-friendly. Too many options for setting up a personalized EQ.

Reviewed this head unit online on a few different sources which all claimed would fit my car. Unfortunately, in the real world that was not the case. I returned the unit.

Bought an open box KDC BT955HD ($49) in May 2014, also got 4 year geek squad protection. Had to buy all of the "fixins", as unit only came with faceplate, sleeve and chassis. Had installed in February 2016 (by Adil in Bridgewater, NJ store, great job, Adil!) and enjoyed the unit very much until December 18, 2016, when it refused to turn off (have to shut off car with key or detach faceplate), now plays only the CD that is in unit (which won't eject - good thing that it's our favorite), volume and other controls not functioning, but BT for phone still works. Haven't tried aux input yet, too cold out. Waiting for CB from BB geek squad to explore my options. Great flexibility and sound when it worked.

I purchased this deck as a replacement for a Alpine damaged in a wreck. The CD player works well, and the tuner picks up more stations than the Alpine did. My only complaint is the faint display which is next to impossible to read in the daylight. If it weren't for that, I'd give it 5 stars!

This unit is top notch! It has all of the features that I would want in a car receiver. I replaced my 6 month old Alpine with this Kenwood and it was well worth the money spent. It has a much better sound to it. The radio reception is 10 times better than the Alpine unit.

Upgraded from a old Alpine to this one. Cant really compare since my old deck didnt have a lot of the features modern decks (and this one) have. Plus it was 50% off when I bought it... Best new option (in my case): *iHeartRadio connects automatically after installing the Kenwood-iHeart connect app. No need to open the app on your phone first like the manual says, just gotta switch it on the stereo. Some of the stuff that could of been better: *Source selection: having to press the source button then scroll to desired selection...should of made it where it scrolls when the source button is pressed like a lot of other ones out there. *no preset radio station buttons: Off the bat that should of been known when you look at it... *preset radio station scrolling: so like source, you gotta press the "search/back" button then scroll to desired one you want. Wouldn't be too bad if wasn't for the next issue *preset radio station naming: it shows the station name, not the frequency. I don't remember all the station names so i use the frequency to know which station i want...so i guess i should start learning them now :/ Overall, still a good buy at the price I bought it at. At regular price I would of passed for something else though.

Radio play great. I purchased this Radio from Best Buy. 12/12/2016 I installed it on 12/15/2016 and the Remote was not working. They want you to mail them the remote on your own dime. Which will cost your at 5 dollar, when remote only cost 10. That is the crazy thing I ever heard. I will never ever buy Kenwood again.

first would like to say that I read a lot of reviews on electronic items before I make a purchase, (TVs, laptops, car amps/stereos, home stereos). And this is the first review that I have written. I made this purchase for the functions that it had listed, specifically, 4v audio out, apple BT compatible, front USB, and steering wheel control capable. The best buy guys took about 4 hours to install 4 JBL 6.5in speaker, with a kicker 4 channel amp. And for the bass they installed an 8 in powered hide away sub under the passenger front seat. And I assume installing the KDC-BT765HD head unit went into position with difficulties. And before I purchased this head unit I ask the head tech if I was going to be able to operate the unit via the steering wheel. His answer was "Oh, yea I have the module needed to make it work." Well after everything was installed it took another 4 hours of trial and error, online research, equipment tech help phone calls, for the tech to finally tell me, "for some reason the head unit doesn't seem compatible with your car". (2016 Nissan Versa) the steering wheel function on my new car are useless now. I reply not compatible with a Nissan..... they are a dime a dozen. Well which cars is it compatible with? And that was the first disappointment. So with the promise that I would get a phone call as soon as he was able to get a different module that made it compatible. I took it as is, mainly because of the amount of time invested so far. OK, I live in Pahrump, and commute to Las Vegas, NV, almost daily for work, family events, rental properties etc. The first time I plugged my I-phone in the USB port it worked perfectly. thought to myself, OK this will work. with my 1.5 hour drives I can charge the phone and play music I have on my phone. Well that only lasted one way and never worked again. I thought it was my USB cord so I bought a new cord... and nothing. so I air cleaned the USB port and my phone connection and still nothing. And before you ask, YES I turned off the blue tooth on my phone, thinking that might be the possible problem. Well I was past due for a new phone, so I purchased the new I-Phone 7,of course after research and review reads, down loaded music and plugged in the USB to the head unit and still, NOTHING. WTH!!! it wont even charge the phone. SO now I'm saying to myself what ever, the blue tooth does work well, with both the music and the phone calls. I will give it that. Now comes the part that I just can't believe that Kenwood hasn't got right yet. the damned thing doesn't keep time. Most of the time the clock works and is accurate. But there is a point on my 1.5 hour daily road trips that it does the weirdest thing. It will go from 7:59pm, and after a minute passes, it will read 7:00 pm again. it will run an hour behind for the next 5-10 minutes, then switch to the 8 o'clock hour on the correct time. well needless to say I wasn't willing to take the 3 hour round trip to best buy in Las Vegs just to have the tech tell me that he doesn't know why it is operating the way that it is. I spent over 1400$ for the entire set up and not completely please. I feel that the best buy techs that did the work did a good job on the install. and put forth max effort to try and get the steering wheel functions to work. I believe that Kenwood just built a glamorous head unit that just DOES NOT WORK the way it should.
