Second issue with best buy

Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I upgraded after the GE stackable debacle and purchased this model and was pleased at first it worked perfectly for a week then D90 error vent issues I called customer service lady was nice and gave me appointment one easter Sunday and nobody showed up or called. Make sure if pick this model you use the rigid vent kit it comes with. Throw old aluminum looking one out. The delivery guys are going to talk you into using old one but don’t. As of now I am still in limbo with half a wash tower. Oh it came damaged too.

Usually need 2 runs for it to dry them. No sure if it’s an installation problem or the machine itself.

Washer not working properly
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought my LG laundry tower 2 months ago, my dryer is working fine but since day one, the washer leaves the clothes dirty, not matter what setting I use or the amount of clothes is put in, there is not enough water getting into the drum for the wash cycle and the rinse cycle seems to be running dry with no water at all, it seems like the clothes are getting a little mist of water, spin and that is it, as a result the clothes are not clean and they are smelly when the wash cycle is done. I called Best Buy, they sent a technician and the technician referred me to the LG support, LG sent a technician and he said he doesn't see anything wrong despite the fact that my clothes are not getting clean. This unit is very beautiful and easy to use but the main function of a washing machine is washing and cleaning the clothes, this one is clearly not doing that for me, so if anyone is listening (Best Buy or LG), I just need this issue resolved, I would hate to get stuck with a 2K "dryer only" tower. Thanks.

Must haves vs sacrifices

The delivery and set up was awesome, thanks best buy! The washtower is the perfect size for my laundry closet (not even close to a room). The Pros: Compact Cleans and dries well Stainless steel drums Traps lint well in both machines. And Cons: Forget remote control UNLESS you touch and hold the remote button every single time. This stinks if your not home or didn't before you left and if the cycle ends and you want to maybe fluff it or add a rinse the remote cancels as soon as the cycle completes. You can't truly use the system without the app. The app doesn't let you change the water temp or spin on most settings. I have 2x washed clothes in temp too high bc the default setting took over. My adult sweaters/ clothes look like it was purchased from the kids section. Overall I find the washtower perfect for my small space and that is the only reason I "upgraded" from my previous front load washer and dryer. I have more room but more headaches with the new "smart" washtower is not without sacrifices. A remote start, preset before you leave the house and only for one cycle...NOT worth it if you don't have a small cramped space.

Damage During Installation

I’ve had the LG tower installed and the duct damaged during the installation. Since then I have 3 technicians come out to attempt to fix an issue with the dryer duct without any avail. I am now told I have to pay for the next visit. Long story short if the installation is without issue maybe things will be okay. If not, Best Buy may not be able to fix it.

Not a fan and will go back to Whirlpool

I let the sales guy talk me into LG saying they have the highest ratings. There are features(soaking, spin/rinse only, etc) my Whirlpool had that the LG is missing. The washer often become unbalanced struggling handling loads I have been washing together for years. The washer and dryer have more presetting than giving the freedom to set each one as you please. The bottoms are the screen are not easy to push when wanting the extra settings or to clean the washer. I do like the dryer more than the washer. I was changing my W/D area and was looking at stacking option due to needing more room for my new water heater. Because I dislike the tower so much, I know I won’t have it long. I have given it 8mths. Once it paid off, this tower will probably barely be 2yrs old when I go and buy a Whirlpool like I initially wanted.

No to the tower, customer service excellent

It ran well until it got to the spin cycle. Then it was violently shaking. I tried to rebalance the tower. But to no avail. And for some reason the dry did not get hot and did not dry like it should. I went back to Best Buy where I purchased the tower. The manager Sultan was awesome. I showed the video to him. He said that it should not do that. He gave me a few options. I chose to purchase a different set all together. So ultimately I was unhappy with the washer/dryer tower. But the customer service was excellent.

Check your outlets first

I have one plugged into an extension right now as I wait for an electrician to rewire my space… and pay $400 for that service. This wasn’t specified when I bought it, and clearly it was important. Also, the dryer isn’t drying thoroughly. Hoping that is going to improve. Will update after the electrician comes. The guys who brought and installed it were great though, and they did their best to keep us informe of all things.

Not happy

We gifted our first set to a young guy that worked for us when he purchased a new home, it was not quite 2 yrs old. Stopped at Best Buy and ordered another one, it came with the dryer damaged, I asked for another one. It was delivered, several weeks ago it started leaking out of the back corner while spinning. Called LG, had an absolutely horrid time making them understand we needed a service call, finally after speaking to 3 different people, a service call was set up. Service came and it was checked out, we were told that it had to do with a plug in the washer being like an overflow. We we still have water on a new floor every 3 or 4 loads. I loved my first wash tower, but am extremely UNHAPPY with the second one.

its not the product but the service

I had another item purchased through the outlet that kept getting its delivery canceled. couldnt get a straight answer why and when i went back to the location to get answers, i saw the item back on the floor. Ultimately the experience was terrible and i tried really hard to buy from someone else but no one could deliver anywhere close to when best buy could deliver. what i learned was dont buy from their outlet unless you can bring it with you that day

The Loudest Ever Made

The dryer sounds like a normal dryer but the sound of the washer is more than I can take. Now I have to figure out how to get it back to the store. Was not expecting a $2,000 piece of equipment to sound like construction going on in the house!!!

Mehhh wouldn’t buy it again

Hot Water Malfunction of Unit

After the team left, we did a few loads of laundry, one load of which included delicate sweaters which were one of a kind. We placed the load on delicate and the coldest water setting and after the load finished, we opened up the unit and it was steaming hot and almost too hot to touch. ALL OF OUR SWEATERS SHRUNK - which we cannot replace and were very expensive. We attempted to do a few more loads and this same problem occurred. After researching online it seemed to be either an issue with the unit or a hook-up issue. After having Best Buy come out again, it did not seem like a hook-up issue, but a malfunction with the unit. For a $2k washer, I do not expect this to happen and am very unhappy with the quality control of LG. Be aware before you wash delicates after receiving your unit.

They havent figured out the smart options quite ye

Im currently running the dryer for the 10th time for a blanket that is still damp. The remote start option only works 1 time and then needs to be reset manually. The steam feature is pretty awful and cost extra for that feature. Great capacity for overall size

Too much vibration and noise

We’re getting a replacement so we’re hoping that we just got a bad one. I still gave it 2 stars since I really like how it looks. Will definitely give it 5 stars if replacement lives up to our expectations.

ThinQ doesn’t work

Washer and dryer work good. Problem is the ThinQ app does not connect to the wash tower. Extremely limits functionality. Customer support has been lacking.

Leaking within 2 yrs

Disappointed.

I replaced my individual washer/dryer with this LG and was disappointed from the beginning. Im a tech guy and enjoy useing apps on my smartphone. I had this maching for 3mth and have yet to get it to connect the the LG ThinQ. This machine has limited wash cyles and not being able to download more cycles makes it even more limited. Washer is noise. I just hope will last 12 plus years like my last washer/dryer. Dont expect it though. Bad Purchase
