Q: QuestionHow much "open space" must be left behind this unit? My space is only 33" deep, is that enough?
Asked by Dave.
- A:Answer The official depth is 30.38". The largest item behind the machine is the dryer vent, unless you vent it to the side. If venting from the rear there should be plenty of room for the rest--hoses and electric, unless your situation is unusual. There are also flat dryer vents that can save room, if you need it. (See the product I added to this post.) Note that in the front, the cabinet of the machine is about 29" deep, the doors protrude about 1.25". In my case, a wall is 30" deep, the cabinet of the machine ended up a bit beyond the 30" wall & the doors protrude a bit more, but to my eye, it looks fine. It's a walkway in front of my machine, so I am concerned about depth, but it's fine. In the photo, the cabinet looks about even with the shoe moulding.

Q: QuestionHow difficult is it to self-install? Not worried about the electrical and water connections, but if the unit comes already stacked, it will be difficult for my wife and I to move it due to the combined weight. Or does it come in separate boxes?
Asked by BenR.
- A:Answer It comes assembled in 1 box. It's tall & heavy. We were able to manage it with a hand truck to get it fairly close to where it goes. There we removed the box, tilted it to remove the styrofoam base and washer drum support. From the hand truck we put it on a moving blanket so we could slide it easily without damaging the floor to right in front of where it goes. The feet have rubber in contact with the floor so little felt-bottomed sliders under them made it easier to move once we removed the blanket and were on bare floor. We tilted slightly, just enough to get the sliders just under the front legs making it possible to slide it the last few feet into the final position after connecting everything, then tilt to remove the sliders. Here's the official install video, but it makes it sound like you can just pick the unit up. Not likely! https://youtu.be/1txg3e9mo2M

Q: QuestionI have one 240 volt outlet. Do you need 1 or 2 outlets?
Asked by Darlene.
- A:Answer Hi Darlene. You will need two outlets for the ENERGY STAR® Qualified LG 4.5 Cu.Ft. 6-Cycle Front-Load Washer and 7.4 Cu.Ft. 6-Cycle Electric Dryer WashTower™ with Steam - Black Steel, Model # WKEX200HBA. The Dryer has to be plugged into the 240 V outlet but the washer has to be plugged into a 120 V, 60Hz grounded outlet. The washer comes with a power cord attached, but the dryer does not. The power cord for the dryer has to be purchased separately...^IFV

Q: QuestionIs it all in one? How many plugs does it have?
Asked by Kit.
- A:Answer Does the LG stacking washer/dryer model WKE100HVA use separate 110v and 220v power cords? The laundry area of the place we will be moving to only has a single 220v currently.

Q: Questionhow do I vent out from the back and what kit is required.
Asked by akas.
- A:Answer The appliance is configured to vent to the rear. It can also vent to the side. Bottom venting is not available on stacked or integrated stacked models. For side venting, you will need the side venting kit, Part Number 3911EZ9131X. It can be purchased online from Encompass Supply at https://lgparts.com/item/6690199/LG/383EEL9001B/. ^Daphane

Q: QuestionHow hard would it be to get the washer/dryer up 2 flights of stairs? The stairs have two landings so its not a straight shot up. The previous owners had full size washer/dryers but they were separate units. Thanks.
Asked by PoorCustomerService.
- A:Answer I would say it would take really careful planning. It can be moved including up stairs on a hand truck--by someone strong and with experience. It is heavy and tall. You would need to measure to be sure the height can be accommodated by the ceilings over the stairs, and the space on the landings to make the turns. It would probably be best to move it while still in the box, but check the measurements of the box, even bigger than the machine. It's possible to disassemble the unit so you could move the washer/dryer parts separately and then reassemble.
