Works surprisingly well
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Cancelled my phone that was included with my Spectrum Cable package but still wanted a landline option for my two youngest kids to be able to call us when out. For $35/year, Magicjack seemed like a great option. It has actually performed very well and easy to install. Good quality sound, no dropped calls. Only watchout is that with Magicjack, you can't call conference call #'s for free. There is an extra per minute charge (maybe 2 cents/minute). I get around it by having Webex call my home # rather than me calling in.

Working well so far.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had the original version for several years and it was fairly reliable. I purchased this model because it does not require an always on computer. I miss the software phone application though.

Handy Device
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My wife and I have travelled extensively during the past 16 years both within the US and internationally. The one device that ALWAYS comes with us is our MagicJack. It makes good use of VOIP and we never have to worry about networks. Plus it is smaller and lighter than any cellphone. It is SO cost effective, it has more than earned its' stripes. Another redeeming feature is the voicemail that allows us excellent access even if we are in the middle of actually travelling. They also have excellent customer service should any challenge arise. We love it!

Great Price & Works Fine
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this one to replace my ancient magic jack. Have had this service for years with charter high speed internet. I cannot understand why anyone would pay $20 - $30/month for a VOIP when this exists. What I like about it most now is the smartphone app - allowing you to use magic jack to receive and place calls off your smartphone, no more running or looking for the traditional phone. If you are connected to wi fi on your smartphone it will not hit your minutes. I first downloaded on an Apple 5s and when I called the cell phone, the number came up correct. Switched to a Samsung with android and it comes up as out of state number when using smartphone (it comes up correct number when using landline) - this would be my only complaint.

It's a Dial Tone
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been a Magic Jack user for several years. I have two of them wired directly into my home router. One for personal land line and one for business/home office. My needs are: 1. I really dislike using cell phones for hosting conference calls due to echos, delays, etc. 2. Every loyalty program in the world is tied to my home land line, so this is an inexpensive way to maintain my number. Essentially this will give you a (mostly) reliable way to make and receive calls. Beyond that, I am constantly amazed at how some features work one day and not the next. You would think that with as long as Magic jack has been around, they would have fixed bugs and made improvements, but there seems to be no movement on the development front. Other VOIP services like Vonage have fantastic feature sets such as call logs, managing voice mails online, etc. But Magic Jack doesn't come close to that functionality. On the other hand.. It's only $35 per year for the service. So as long as you can get by with the basic dial tone and voice mail, this is a fine solution.

Works great and easy setup!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My AT&T landline was out of order so I decided to give MJ a try. It was easy to set up and I have it plugged in directly to my router so that it works without my computer. Call quality is as good or better than my regular ATT line so I decided to port my existing number to MJ and will drop ATT as soon as the porting process is complete. With the cost of the unit plus the onetime $20 porting and the optional $5.00 911 charge, this thing will pay for itself in about a month or two.

Served its purpose
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this item due to the fact my husband travels out of town frequently. My husband stated that he was able to use this without any problems. Setup was easy and he was able to connect and talk with ease.

Works with a few bugs, big cost savings.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We purchased a magic jack in our quest to get rid of an almost $300 per month cable/phone/internet bill. We had our landline number ported ($20 plus a small 911 fee). It works, most of the time. It needs to be plugged into your computer and your computer needs to be on, so if you like to shut off your computer when not in use, this will not work for you. The power flashed over a weekend when we were out of town and we had no phone (and no voicemail) until we got home and restarted the computer. I love that I can now answer my landline calls on my cell phone, but it is a little bit buggy also. Sometimes they don't come thru and sometimes only after several rings so I miss them anyway. Every once in a while some of the calls clear off the log on the magic jack app on the computer. I no longer get caller Id on my handset, I need to go to the computer and look at the app to find out who is calling. As I said, there are a few bugs, but we paid about $55 for the first year for this service vs $55 a month for a landline. Going forward I believe it will be $20 a year. This is a huge savings and well worth a few bugs.

International Calling
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Now we're able to call our loved ones overseas by dialing a local US number for a small fraction of the cost of direct dialing. The only weird thing is, we keep getting voicemails meant for someone's parents from a school. It looks like someone owned the number before.

Good price and works
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this magic jack go to replace the magic jack plus that died. I paid about as much as a year of service would cost and was able to add my remaining years of Magic Jack service to it. Seems to work well, though I seldom use it. I use it as a land line and give it to people I want to be able to get a hold of me if my cell phone is not accessible. I use it with a wireless that has an extension which I keep upstairs by my computer. Too much information. Best Buy price is right and I appreciate having the product.

Love MagicJack
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have used a MagicJack for our land line for several years with NO problems! It is a great value for the money saved from using AT&T, etc. for land line phone service. Calls are clear and an email is sent the minute someone leaves a voice mail. Highly recommend it!

Excellent Product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this to have a contact number where I can be reached even if I'm out of the country. It works beautifully in that respect. I set it up at home following the very simple instructions, then downloaded the app to my smartphone. I can either carry the magicJack with me and connect it anywhere I travel, but why go through the trouble? It stays connected to my home network and all the calls forward to my smartphone via the app. B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L. Well done, magicJack, and on top of that, the annual cost is just over one month's cell service fee. Awesome.

My 2nd one to own...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned a MagicJack since their very first unit hit the market. Has done a great a job for us. Recently we started cutting cords for cable subscriptions, including phone lines. Recently I decided to pick up one for my in-laws so they could do away with their monthly phone service charge. They've enjoyed it and use it daily to stay in touch with family across the U.S.. The sound is crystal clear and the unit is very easy to setup. After it's setup it is something you really never have to mess with again.

MagicJack Go work Great
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have enjoyed having MagicJack Go and now able to have a home telephone that is clear and very cost effective. The mobile app is also a great feature. I have crystal clear calls free across the US. You can also send text messages with the App. Voice Mail is also included. You can talk international as well and for free if you call another MagicJack user. Easy to install and use. Saves at least $20 or over a month from the normal landline. I would certainly recommend the product. Best Buy is the place to purchase.
