I used to pay 29.99 just for my house phone. This has been a great replacement. It is very cheap and will save you hundreds of dollar every year. The quality of call is also very good. My only trouble is that it sometime doesn't work well with door intercoms

It's impressive how easy it is to setup; just 5 min. As a prior Ooma customer, Ooma is great too, I was interested in Magic Jack because of the additional features with even less cost. Porting in your old number appears to be simple; still waiting to get confirmation. It works amazingly well!

Very easy to set up, doesn't take long, and you can port an existing telephone number easily. Call clarity has been great - switched from Verizon and it's much clearer with the Magic Jack.

Used this to replace our landline that was almost entirely receiving spam phone calls. I was able to port our old number for a one time $10 fee. I setup voicemail to email new voicemails to myself so that no matter where I am I can get an email with the voicemail attachment (.wav file) and it shows the number that called. Since we all have cell phones this was a cheap way to keep the landline for $20/year (first year is free with the purchase of the device). No problems so far, I connected our old 5 phone answering machine device to it, the sound quality isn't quite the same, but it's definitely usable It was nice being able to keep the old landline number as it's the number we give out to businesses, etc.

    WORST CUSTOMER SUPPORT EVER

I purchased a magicjack and started the porting process. I decided that I did not like the quality of the service so I immediately cancelled my porting. I called, chatted and emailed them with no response. Of course they ported my number. I am now trying to port it somewhere else and it keeps getting denied saying I have a work order in progress. I have emailed them 10 times, called 5, and chatted 8 and no one can help. They don't understand English. If you get magicjack and have no problems you are fine. Other than that BEWARE. Their customer service is the worst. If you don't believe it, contact them and see what happens. Good luck

    Quite good internet phone

Works well most of the time - On occasion (maybe 1 in 10-15 calls?) you cannot hear the caller and have to hang-up. You can also intercept the calls (while away from home or at home away from your phone) on your cell phone using their app, as well as make calls from a land line (plugged into the jack) or cell phone. We have been using ours for over 2 years now.

After a friend recommended MajicJack to replace my landline, I gave it a try. It worked right out of the box! I've been very pleased with it, the installation and notifications on my iPhone. I called the customer support desk to set up wifi calling while overseas and they got me up an running the same night. Very satisfied!

    Not So Good

Magicjack is great until you have a problem. when you contact their support team (chat is the only way to do it) you will get a person that basically sends you pre-written answers not paying attention to your existing problem (in my case: MJ not working) . it was very evident that they do not understand or have a basic knowledge of computer system. After pleading to get my chat transfer to a so call expert team member(this took more then one hour) you will get the same thing again. When all is done and MJ still not working they will put the blame on Apple (your computer) telling you to go see them to fix the problem... After 2hrs and 34minutes I had enough and did my own trouble shooting. Fixed the problem for now. If you ask for a refund they will tell you that there is no refund after 30 days, in my case, i bough for 5yrs out of luck. This was my experience with MJ

    Sounds like cut off

I got magickJack Go in Jan. 2015. Since then, it sounds cut off when I call of receive calls. Sometimes, it happens at the beginning of phone calls. Sometimes, in the middle of conversation. Contacted MagicJack Support team. I worked with those senior support guys for several days. Still the same problem. Everytime, contact them, they insisted to trouble shoot. I told them I have worked with them for several days. But they insisted continue to trouble shoot. Who could and would work with them endless like this? I recommended to try another magickJack. Was told all they would do is trouble shouting.

DONT BUY THIS PRODUCT, YOU GONNA END UP WASTING YOUR TIME HOURS AND HOURS WITH TECH SUPPORT, THEY DON'T EVEN FIX THE PROBLEM. Very unsatisfied and frustrated with this piece of Junk. I spent almost like 12 hours on the customer support chat, they don't even have a direct phone line to talk to technical support. I WOULD WARN EVERYONE ABOUT THIS PRODUCT. ITS DEFF A NO NO

    Worst Customer Service EVER

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Worst Customer Service Award goes to....Magic Jack of course. March 2017 I was "up for renewal". My bank account information had changed and I was having trouble updating it online so I called customer service. They FORCED me to buy a "new upgraded box" which was ACTUALLY an entirely new system (like a second line) and then charged me a year of renewal on top of it. ($80.85) The rep TOLD me I would get a "year free" with this, so 2 years. I confirmed this multiple times. Fast forward to now. I'm surprised with a "Your subscription is expired" notice. "How?" I think "I should have another year." So I call again. The rep, Ren, confirms that the other guy basically lied and says he's happy to process my payment. I'm out the extra money and he has no solution. "You can keep that equipment and use it if the other breaks". I've been a customer for over 5 years....I'm appalled that you have no customer service solutions. You should have apologized and credited me a year of service.

    Caller ID is all digits

    Posted .

This device is advertised to have caller ID. For caller ID they display 20 digits which is useless. Their online chat said that their engineers working on it however they do not have a completion date for correcting caller ID. I had to spend 20 minutes in online chat just to get my account number. They will send you an e-mail and charge you $30 if you want to port your number to another company. They also charge for 911. They refused to port my number out at first then delayed my port out (against FCC rules) so that I had > 30 days so they could deny a refund. They say they will contact you back on questions however they did not ... I had to contact them. There are better products that have outstanding customer service ... OOMA. The best part of owning Magic Jack Go was the happy clerk at Best Buy that gave me a refund.

My wife purchases this to reduce our phone bill. the adaptor died after 3 months of use. When I tried to check our account online I had forgot my password and the customer service could not reset it for me. absolutely one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a "customer support" person I don't even think they where in the U.S. hard to tell over a chat page
