    My magic jack

I installed my magic jack after purchase. Once I installed magic jack into my computer, I was able to make call. When installed my magic jack on the router , it did not work on my phone line. I had to unplug my router and reconnected it and I was successful in connecting it to my phone line.(whole house). Overall the quality of the phone call is very good. The only thing I do not like about my magic jack is that you cannot make a conference call. Every time I try to make a call with the number I use in making international phone calls, I get a message to purchase minutes to make the call. More so, the magic jack app is not free. It is an additional $10.00. It also cost $10.00 to port your number. I rarely use magic jack but I was amazed at the quality of the calls.

I purchased because I used all of my mobile plan minutes, and didn't have a home phone. It works ok, but there are occasional crashes, and another VoIP device cannot call the magic Jack, unless it's a magic Jack. The mobile app works, too, and doesn't use cell minutes.

I have fast internet with Cox (50mbps) and that is what is required with Magic Jack plus. My understanding is it will work with slower internet speed but not below 5mbps. No lost connections or phone calls. The calls are clear. The great thing, is Magic Jack comes with an app for IOS and Android. So, whereever there is wireless, you have magic jack. Only 10 dollars to port phone number and I bought an opened Magic Jack product at Best Buy for 44 dollars. So it cost me 54.00 for the first year and only 35 dollars a year going forward.

I got the urge to investigate ways to drop my Verizon home phone service, which was costing me in the neighborhood of $900.00/year. Visited a bunch of tech websites, ended up deciding that MagicJack Go was the best option. Extra bonus - when I started shopping for it, Best Buy had it on sale! Easy set up. I selected options to port my home number over and as soon as it was configured, outgoing calls used that number. Incoming calls had to wait 3 days (not the 2 weeks described) for Verizon to transfer my number, but they started coming in with no other work. Call quality seems great. I was worried about choppiness, delays, and break-ups. No problems. I don't think anybody who calls has noticed any change. Voice mails get emailed to me. I had a little goofiness configuring Gmail to play them, but that's not a MagicJack problem. Voice mails come as .wav attachments, which is a standard audio file format. One downside that keeps this from being a 5-star rating is that MagicJack doesn't support Caller ID with Name. If the number is programmed into the phone you use for a landline, the name you program will be shown, but other numbers only come in as phone numbers, not names. Other than that, I love it.

THE MAGIC JACK GO WAS SO EASY TO SET UP ON MY WIRELESS HOME PHONES AND MAKE CALLS IMMEDIATELY. WITHIN A FEW DAYS THE TRANSFER OF MY HOME PHONE NUMBER WAS COMPLETE... AND BEST OF ALL....NO MORE MONTHLY LAND-LINE CHARGES. $39.00 COVERS AN ENTIRE YEAR OF SERVICE, BUT I CHOSE TO PAY $129 FOR 5-YEARS OF PHONE SERVICE, AND I CAN TAKE THE ADAPTER ANYWHERE I TRAVEL AND NEVER MISS A CALL. A GREAT INVENTION INDEED.

The Magic Jack was easy to install and set up. It took a little while to port in our existing number, but after it was established, everything has been great. Clear calls, both incoming and outgoing.

Well, I was certainly skeptical at first. How could it be that something this useful could really be so cheap? It was the return policy that talked me into trying it. We've now had it for over a month and I love it. We were able to get a number with the local area code, but it's long distance for anyone to call us - except of course, those with cell phones or extended area calling. I was able to get a vanity number for only $10 a YEAR more! wow. VERY easy to setup. Just connected it to power (BOO! AC adapter!) and directly to my router and after setting up my account online it was up in seconds.

I've used MagicJack for over 5 years. This was a replacement/upgrade. I never have problems with calls. I even call my son in Canada at no extra charge. It has all the extra features such as call forwarding, voicemail etc. And the price for the service is fabulous!

I purchased this new Magic Jack device to replace one that failed. I wanted to have a house phone again as a back up to our cell phone. Minus the monthly bills. This device hooked up easily. There is a plug adapters to either plug into wall or take it off and plug into a usb on the computer. It has a Ethernet port that plugs directly to the modem, and a phone jack that plugs into a phone. You create or sign in to your accounts and pick your number. There is also an option to port an existing phone number. There is a small fee for this, and it takes a little bit longer to do this. There is also an extra charge for true 911'service. This is a state fee. As far as sound quality, there is some static at times, but I haven't dropped a call yet. I'm using a cheap phone. But it works, it's inexpensive and we have a home phone for only a few dollars a month.

From the box to making calls took less than 30 minutes. I ported my existing phone number which cost an additional $10 but after 23 yrs with the same number $10 was cheaper than trying to notify everyone new number it took about 7 days to finally get my old number making and receiving calls is no different than my old carrier plus I now have caller ID that I refused to pay for with old carrier. My internet went down once but when it came up the MJ just restarted. I have a strong technical background both with computer equipment and telephone systems so was skeptical, I had looked at MJ for a couple of yrs not sure now why I didn't pull the plug sooner It works great

I had read that people were having problems with setup on the MagicJack GO so I was a bit worried something would glitch. Not a problem at all. Device works well. I am now in the process of porting my old number to it. If that goes well, review would be 5 stars. Only issue is MJ charges a $10 one time fee to port **AND** $10 to change the number. Not really clear on the 2 fees in literature and on the web. Still saving a boatload (OK, a really small boat but I digress) of $$ over the cheap Vonage plan. Hopefully, it will work as well as Vonage has for the past 9 years.

My family has been using MagicJack products for about 5 years now and when an electrical storm recently knocked a bunch of our electronic devices out, we didn't hesitate to buy a new MagicJack. The service from the company has been steadily reliable, so we were ready to pay up for the newest model at Best Buy. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the price of the MagicJack hasn't really changed! What has changed is the ease in setting up the device! The total setup time, from when I opened the box to the moment I finished setting it up and making the first test call, was about 10 minutes. You can plug a landline phone into an AC wall adapter or through a USB adapter on your computer. Instructions are easy to follow with visual step-by-step guide.

I am saving lot of money using magicjack. The only bad is if internet connection is lost or power outage happens, the phone dial tone is gone. The first one rare to happens, the second I will buy a battery backup (UPS) to solve the issue. It is an overall wonderfull choice

I would recommend magicjack easy to set up. Works great, this works off your internet so the faster your internet the less possibility of you having problems with the connection. You can take it with you anywhere you go as long as you have Internet. Can't beat the price

This is my 3rd magicjack go. The first two replaced my old USB-only magicjack adapters, and this third one is an additional line. All three work as expected. The only issue I have every once in a really long while, is the device will freeze either from overheat or something, and am forced to unplug it off and on. Voice quality is good. definitely an improvement over the old USB to PC version. For some reason, after 90 minutes the calls suddenly drop. Sometimes it also drops on shorter calls, but on average it happens on the 90 minute mark. This has replaced my landline at home and my office. And it also works great to talk with my family outside the US.

This is being used to replace a hardwire phone line. One problem though was that I cancelled my service with AT&T before getting the magic jack, and because of that, I couldnt keep my same telephone number! So if you are going to switch to this product, and keeping your # is important, then make sure that you switch over to Magic Jack before terminating your other contract!

This is my third MagicJack and I am very happy with the cost and performance of the unit. I had to decrease rating to 4 stars due to super slow delivery, instead of estimated delivery of April 13 I got it on April 22nd, 9 days later.
