Magic Jack adds or replaces land line service at deep discount. Had Vonage in past but after initial offering price was no longer competitive with cable or phone company.

I needed something to hook my alarm system auto dial to because I got rid of my landline. Finally after much research got the Magicjack and it did exactly what I wanted and was easy to install.

If you are taking your existing number, start the magicjack before disconnecting from your existing provider. Hookup is simple. You can reach customer service, if you have an hour to wait for them. It is easier to go online and get your answers. The customer service wait, is the reason I could not give 5 stars. It is impossible to use the magicjack unit, if it was purchase and registered by a previous person. My first unit, from another store, was a returned unit. After 3 hours (looking online and waiting on hold for customer service), I was told it was registered to another and unusable. After all this, it is a very nice product. As reliable as the internet connect allows it to be. A very affordable way to have a VoP house line and I read it maybe used out of the house.

Overall, a good buy. The initial cost is reasonable since you'll only be paying ~$3/yr. Beware though, if you are porting your existing number over, read carefully. You could end up selecting the wrong thing and find you paid an extra fee like I did. And it's a B*&^c to get it back.

If you don't require superb sound quality you get from a land line, then you should be very happy at the voice quality and service you get from MagicJack Go, especially for the price. I finally cut the cord on my land line after using MJ GO for a month to test it out. It is much improved from the original MagicJack in sound quality. Very easy to set up.

I love that I have a whole year of service for a little over the amount of one monthly bill from my ex carrier. The app means there are 2 phone numbers on my cellphone from which I can make and recieve calls and texts. Quality has been excellent but I withheld a star for some digging I had to do to find answers to a couple of questions.

Good product works well. Works as advertised. Save money on your monthly home phone bill.

Works just as well as the service I purchased before from Comcast - for $35 a month less! Only thing I miss is the caller ID only gives the phone number that is calling - it doesn't give the owner of the number. Not a horrible thing - just inconvenient. Otherwise love it.

The MagicJack is a great alternative to traditional home phone services. I took it home and had it set up within 15 minutes. Ported my existing home number over from Comcast, which took about 7 days. It has been working great. It's also portable, giving you access to the phone from virtually anywhere with an internet connection.

This magic jack has been the best so far, there are still some days when the voices become unintelligible but I have had far less issues with this model. It was easy to install and connect to the phone number I had on the previous magic jack. I will buy another one and recommend to others.

Poor cell reception where I live in NW Bradenton so was looking for phone service other than cell phone. MagicJack was easy to setup, number was ported easily & quickly, so far seems to be working well. Device is plugged into my UPS system so will have some service if power goes out if internet stays up. Seems to be a cost effective method way to have some phone service.

Excellent voice quality at a very good price. I would recommend without hesitation.

The Magic Jack has excellent quality and save money. It allows me to use phone numbers that will not compromise my area of operation, given the type of investigative work in which I am employed.

The MagicJack Go works exactly as promised. It was easy to install and activate. I struggled with MagicJack support to get a phone number they assigned to me working. They wanted to charge me $10 for a 'free' phone number. I eventually convinced them to allow me to have the free number after a number of discussions.

This isn't our first MagicJack. We had used this product previously but stopped using it when we bundled our Cable/Internet/Phone service but we recently decided to "cut the cord". We were tired of paying so much every month so we kept our internet, bought an HD antenna and a couple of Fire Sticks and added just a couple of inexpensive apps that cover just about everything we need to stream video. Still, we needed a landline in order to call home because we don't live on our cell phones. The MagicJack gives us that ability and it has always worked very well. The call quality is as good as any that we have ever experienced and the best part is that it gave us a year of service with the purchase. Additional years will cost a bit more than the first but it's still far cheaper than what we were previously paying. Now if there is a negative to this product to mention it is that keeping your old telephone number can be a little bit of an ordeal. We were given the option as an upgrade which would cost additional money and that may be an option for those who might have an extensive contact list because notifying lots of people of a change can be a pain. We decided to just deal with it. For this product to be able to "port" your existing number it must still be available to do so and not all numbers will remain available depending upon the time frame. Still,this is a good choice for those looking to save some money each month. I would definitely recommend .

I bought this product to use while in South Korea. It works great with providing me a phone that I can use to call family and friends in the States or be contacted when necessary without incurring international charges.

Magic jack works as well as other services and it's cheaper.
