Inputs not working. No setup mic input either.

After setting up this receiver (via bi-wire stereo setup paired with B&W 686 with sub) the HEOS interface sounded amazing. Very easy to play music from phone. TV setup via optical in was a breeze as well. However when I tried to plug my turntable into the CD input using red/white RCA plugs I get nothing, not even a little feedback when plugging in. I tried this on multiple red/white inputs (cable/sat, dvd etc) and got the same thing. I also tested this with another RCA input device and got no response. Also, during setup it came with a calibration microphone and stand to automatically calibrate the speaker configuration. However there is no plug for the setup mic. The setup mic is useless. If I could figure these two things out it would be much higher rated but so far does not perform like a $1000 receiver.

Purchased this Marantz to upgrade my system, where it replaced a 10 year old Marantz. Sound is great, set up very easy and interaction with systems and components is flawless. Not only Direct TV reception is much enhanced but it is great for 4K streams from Apple TV and Amazon Fire stick. Using Monitor Audio Silver speakers for front, center and rear surrounds with Klipsch for Atmos front speakers and sub-woofer. The power output is flawless and the whole house shakes if I turn up volume too much. 4K DVDs are awesome and even better than streaming. I find the Marantz's upgrading processing to work really well, finally, I used the audio mic for initial set up, but then reconfigured by ear as I found the auto system put too much emphasis into the rear speakers and sub-woofer,

Easy first time setup and enough power for a large 7.1 full set of speakers while being able to play on Aux channel as well. App controllable from your phone, but software is not super intuitive or as power to use as the remote.

MARANTZ provides a decent product, good sound, could be a little more user friendly as far as the platform for the receiver goes. personally i prefer yamaha over marantz. best buy pushes marantz over yamaha for some reason.

I bought this system as an upgrade to an existing Denon receiver that went on the fritz. Awesome audio and a worthwhile upgrade. With this mode. Marantz chose to add HEOS to the system, a plus. However the added HEOS caused Marantz chose to eliminate local network control of the setup process. Otherwise I would have given 5 stars.

If you don’t already know how awesome these amps are just do some googling. For me, it’s more of a brand thing. I’m anti-brands-that-do-everything. I’ve got klipsch and definitive technology speakers because that really all they do, I’ve got audioquest connectors because that’s really all they do. Marantz makes audio processing equipment. It’s logical that a company that has been specializing in one arena for years does better than a company who does a little bit of everything. You can either know a lot about a little or a little about a lot.

It was very easy to set up and sounds great. I would recommend manually adjusting the sounds of each speaker. I tried the initial set up with audyssey and had to tweak it a lot to get it to sound how i wanted. The only trouble I am having with it is when I power everything on. For some reason it doesn’t connect to the Comcast box. I have to manually power the Comcast box on and off for it to work. I know it is the stereo because I went back to the tv speakers and the picture came up. I do however like how the stereo automatically switches from Comcast to the tv apps. Overall it sounds great and i would recommend this unit.

We had an old unit that worked great with 15 year old technology but we were upgrading to a new Sonos system for the whole house. This pulled it all together and everything works seamlessly.

Great processing and HT decoding. Includes DTS X and Dolby Atmos. Has pass through for Dolby Vision as well as HLG and HDR10. Has decent power at around 70 watts RMS per channel in 5.1 or 7.1 systems but going to use it as a pre amp since it has all the pre outs to run it per channel. Great price and value for Marantz product at $799

My Best Buy associate compared different receivers. This one was by far the best. You should design your system starting with the receiver. It is the muscle.

The receiver has a very good mid range but lacking in the bass. Also I did not like the little window for seeing what I was controlling without the TV on.

Though mildly complex to set up, this very good receiver has adequate power, a warm sound typical of Marantz, and all the current bells and whistles. It's now last year's model at 40% off. The new one has Alexa built in rather than as an add-on. That's about it, and it's $400 more.

Got the sr5012. I run a 5.1 with Martin Logan speakers does pretty well but I would need more power for my type of speakers. This receiver does come with pre outputs so looks like I'll be looking for an amp
