Surprising Little Guy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted to wait until I had used the Go for a week before reviewing it. Close enough. It runs Adobe suite (photoshop, animate, muse, etc) all great so far. It's very snappy for such a small computer. I love that its silent and thin. Expandable storage is a HUGE feature for a PC this size. I was pleasantly surprised to see that Realflight 8 (an RC Flight Sim) runs absolutely perfect on this! The Ockel Sirius A Pro can't say the same and costs twice as much. The only real eyesore is the bezels. They're very 2013. Whatever, not a deal breaker. Something to look forward to when the Go 2 comes out hopefully. Battery life is 7 hours with my main use which is a digital mixer interface connected to a Soundcraft Ui12. I'm glad I preordered this a got the $50 BB gift card.

The portability is amazing & faster than expected
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The surface go is amazing for what it is. I am a student who exchanged my Macbook 12 inch, and i picked up the surface go as the Macbook just didn't have the features I truly needed. First of all, the ultra portable form factor is awesome, and I also bought the keyboard cover and pen to go along with it and it works much better than I had expected it to work. My desktop is what I use for speed, power, and gaming so my expectations for this little thing weren't too high, but in high performance mode it runs very well. Using the windows ink features with the surface pen has so far made things easier for me in the classroom and I am taking digital notes for the first time in my life. The drawing features and highlighting tools really do make productivity tools feel fresh and it is like I am learning something new within windows for the first time in a while. It just feels like I have more options to do my work than the macbook ever allowed me to have. This device IS NOT for everybody. Do not buy it if you expect it to run any games or any other super heavy workloads. It is perfect for someone else like me, who wants something ultra portable and decently fast for the price, while still being a very high quality product.

Bye bye IPads
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a Surface Pro 3 so I was SO EXCITED when I heard this little gem was coming out. Then I read a few reviews that talked about S Mode and how people didn’t like that aspect of this computer. I started to get a little nervous but figured this would be good enough...I plan to use it for work stuff. I’ve had it for several days now and have played with it and thought it was GREAT. Then I decided to put Norton on it and that’s when I saw the S Mode issue. I clicked the link to change it and held my breath...waiting for this $99 Switch Fee to pop up. It DID NOT. It was free and took about 2 seconds. I went with the more expensive model and with accessories (pen, keyboard and arc mouse) it was pretty pricey. But I would spend every single penny on it again!!! This little thing is a beast! It does almost everything my Surface Pro does and way more than my Ipads. The keyboard is nicer than my SP. Selling 2 iPads now. They’re boring

5 stars easy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I haven't been this impressed with a gadget in a long time. Love the portibilty, I would think for most people it has more than enough "horsepower" to do most anything. I do have two complaints, its not that cheap....and the keyboard is not included. Oh and the battery life is pretty bad, no way around that! But I promise, other than those 3 negatives, this little machine rocks.

Very capable PC
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would really give this 4.5 stars, but it isn't possible. It looses a half start because of the very bad battery life. I have read the Microsoft bulletin about the battery, but it wasn't very good about improving the time between charges. I am lucky to get three-four hours between charges. I am video streaming and playing games from Steam and I imagine that is why the battery goes down so fast. I have disabled Location Services and the WiFi when not needed, but it doesn't seem to help. That being said, I love this Surface product. I changed from the S setting so I could load other apps. The Microsoft store is very lacking. I side loaded an android emulator also and now my Surface does everything I ask of it. I have not noticed any lag and the web sites and other apps load almost instantly. I did not purchase my Surface Go from BB. but I did get the special one at Costco. 4GB and 128 with the keyboard. The savings were very good and I don't seem to see any performance drop off without the other 4GB, but I hardly ever have more than one window open. The screen is outstanding, vivid colors and sharp. I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend the Surface Go

Best portable Windows experience
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this hoping for a ipad alternative to have for supporting my IT Clients. I needed something fairly portable for when an emergency comes up. Pro's: CPU really can handle only 1-2 programs at a time or there is a lot of lag and hesitation as the cpu sits mostly at 100% Ram: is good but does not help when the cpu cannot keep up SSD: performs good Screen: is a little small but with a mouse or type cover it was manageable. Typing: The keyboard is nice but smaller so I am slower with it vs the pro. Battery: It is ok but nothing extreme. I ended up feeling that the pro with the M3 was the better machine since it is faster and the typing experience is more of what I am used to. Also I can have 3 programs open doing support and it worked good. In the end I love the size but for the cost I do not want to micro manage every program I have open and close them to leave cpu for it to be a more seamless experience.

More than exceeded expectations
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As someone that wasn't too keen on buying a 10-inch Windows tablet (especially one with an Intel Pentium chip inside), I've been blown away with the performance of the Go. I already have a speedy, 13-inch laptop, and couldn't imagine how the Go would fit into my life. Now I barely turn my laptop on. Between Microsoft Office, light photo editing, web browsing, pen input, and file management, all my needs are taken care of. I even have TeamViewer installed for when I need remote access to other computers, and it works perfectly. And for when I really want to get work done, I even have a bluetooth keyboard and mouse. And all of that is stuffed inside a tiny, 11-inch bag. I can now quickly maneuver from job sites without hassle. The Go has turned me into a productivity machine.

Finally, a transformer Windows 10 tablet!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Firstly, I want to say what I am using this for. Playing my large catalogue of gog games. These are games from the 80s and 90s so they are not very demanding. However I have thrown a 2014 game Tesla Effect Tex Murphy at this thing, and it runs it with just a little bit of frame rate slowdown. The things I like about this are. It feels so so sturdy and well built. The transformer effect of snapping on the keyboard (as well as the pen magnetically connecting to and CHARGING from, the side of the tablet!). This will make an amazing portable windows 10 machine for people who travel. I am using this mostly for playing games away from home. But you could totally do your normal web browsing on this thing easily. I bought the whole deal. the faster 8gb model, the type cover, pen, and mouse. All cobalt blue and they look just as well made and sharp as the surface go. As a bonus, aside from the games I'm playing on it. I have been able to practice writing my Hiragana with the pen and notepad. Which is part of the Japanese alphabet. So I am using this for productivity too! It really feels nice, and looks like little pen or pencil scribbles, if you make the lines thin enough. So you can do a little bit of sketching and art on this thing as well. It's not going to run the most current demanding games or software. But if you find a fun niche to use it for, like I have. This can be the perfect small portable windows 10 machine for you! You have to go through a short easy process of unlocking windows 10. But once you do, you have unlocked it's true potential. And the real reason you want this over an ipad or other tablet. Windows 10 on the go.

Posted .Hi Eric,
Thanks for taking the time to share your in-depth experience of Surface Go with the community! We're delighted that you're loving the small yet powerful design of our most portable device yet.
We'd just like to take a moment to be of assistance regarding the battery life of Surface Pen. Although this unique tool offers incredible battery life, when you attach it magnetically to your device, this is not a charging mechanism. The Surface Pen requires AAAA batteries which you can easily find and order on Best Buy's website. We hope this helps clarify!
Welcome to the Surface family, we're delighted to have you!

It's great!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A 30-day review of the Surface Go (8GB + 128gb model). I use this device for business and personal use. My typical day consists of going to meetings throughout my office building, working in my own office, and occasionally working in a shared office space. I frequently travel to my client locations for meetings. With this device, the selling point is to have something tablet size to take notes on with the surface pen, which doubles as a fully usable laptop when working in another office, or at a coffee shop. At home, I pull the keyboard cover off, and I have a great (not excellent) tablet for browsing the web that is lightweight and (just) the right size. My only complaint with using the Surface Go is with the accessory keyboard. I find the small keys on the Go keyboard to be too cramped for my typing style. For light typing, this is not an issue, but I do find myself pairing my Logitech K780 keyboard and MX Master mouse to Surface Go when I need more room to operate. I knew going into this purchase that this device has limitations from a CPU standpoint, but having used the Surface GO for 30 days, I find it to be fully capable of running my day-to-day workflow when I am mobile. Overall, a highly recommended productivity tool that compliments a desktop workstation PC that provides good value for your money. best
