Okay here’s my review. I don’t review much on Best Buy but do sometimes on Amazon. I preordered Surface Go on the BB site mainly because I was going to use the free $50 BB gift card with the purchase towards a Go keyboard. To start off with I pretty much have all of the Surface family devices the studio, pro 4, and Book but I find myself using the Go the most because I move around a lot and all of the other devices are much too inconvenient. The Surface Book detached is actually lighter but the battery life for the tablet portion is not enough. I bought a Stream Deck Mini and have all of my macros programmed and this combo is a beast and fits my needs perfectly. The battery life is great too. I get about 7 hours but I can also charge through the USB C. I can’t review the 64gb version but my 128gb version with 8gb RAM fits my needs perfectly. The premium keyboard came out to $80 with $50 off. I use a surface pen from my other device. Over all, this is my dream device. Small, powerful, and the keyboard doesn’t feel cramped. I don’t like Windows S (sorry Microsoft) but I was able to remove it using the free Microsoft removal on their Store. I feel that the device is crippled with Windows S, so make sure to remove it you plan to install other applications not found on their App Store. Great job on the GO! I hope you keep innovating!

This is my first Surface purchase, and I must say that I am extremely pleased with this tablet. Bought it with a type cover and pen, plus an Office 365 subscription, which definitely will help if you get the model with less storage. The 8GB RAM with 128GB SSD model is more than sufficient for my needs. It even can go the extra mile with fuill virtualization support(Hyper-V), which I was very skeptical about before purchasing. Brought it home, turned of Windows S mode, upgraded Windows 10 home to pro, and this tablet is able to run any virtual machine(I've tried Android 8.1 x64, Ubuntu, a few others..) I have thrown at it. The SSD transfers data to and from the USB-C port super fast. I didn't know the Pentium series CPU was still being manufactured, nor would I have thought that it would be any sort of mobile performance contender, but the Intel®Pentium® Gold Processor 4415Y that this model is equipped with definitely surpassed my expectations(I usually stay working on a workstation with x2 Xeon CPUs with no fewer than 12 cores each, for a total of 48 cores, with HT of course). Great screen quality, decent resolution, touchscreen is super responsive. Excellent battery life. Decent camera quality. DEFINITELY recommend this tablet to anyone who is looking to try out a MS Surface product, or even looking for a laptop/tablet replacement.

I purchased this Surface Go computer / tablet about 2 years ago, (2018). It was a great little product until recently. If it sits idle for about 30-40 minutes the screen becomes all blotchy or pixelated, thus rendering it useless. The only way to get it to turn off is by pressing the power button for about 10 seconds. Sometimes it takes a couple of hours before the screen goes back to normal. It was a great device but now it is useless. It is unfortunate that it only lasted 2 years. Best Nuy wanted to charge me $400.00 to have the factory look at it. Sorry, no way. I would be interested in getting feedback from Microsoft about their defective product.

I got this tablet because I wanted something light, compact, and simple for catching up on the news or watching videos while I'm commuting or traveling. It can be tricky to pull out even a lightweight 13" laptop in a crowded subway car, yet I needed a full Windows desktop so my phone just wouldn't cut it. The Surface Go is the answer. The 10" screen is just the right size for everyday reading, content consumption, and light productivity work, and it's small and light enough to carry and pull out easily in the field. The touchscreen is very responsive and has an 1800x1200 resolution for a very sharp and clear picture. The screen is also bright enough to easily read outside. There's a front-facing infrared camera for Windows Hello face recognition, so logging in and unlocking it is quick and easy. It runs Windows 10 Home in S mode out of the box, but it's easy to switch out of S mode and run all your familiar Windows desktop apps. The smaller size and lower price point compared to the Surface Pro does mean a number of compromises, but none are serious limitations considering how this device is meant to be used. The only USB port is a single USB-C port, which means that plugging in most flash drives will require an optional dongle, though there also is a microSD card slot for storage expansion. The 1.6 GHz dual-core (with Hyper-Threading) Intel Pentium Gold processor can feel sluggish at times, such as when trying to open a large number of browser tabs at once, but is perfectly adequate in most situations. Battery life is also on the shorter side, but this is mitigated by the Surface Go having support for USB-C charging with USB Power Delivery, so you can power it up with a USB PD power bank. There's two commonly-available versions of the Surface Go: a cheaper version with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of eMMC storage, and a better version with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of faster NVMe storage. The 8/128 version has enough memory and storage that's fast enough to not hold up most tasks. The 4/64 version, on the other hand, is prone to running out of memory and slowing down dramatically when you try to use it hard, which is particularly problematic on a device with a relatively slow processor. As such, I'd strongly recommend getting the 8/128 version. (A third version with a built-in LTE modem is also available but most people won't need it; I simply have it tethered to my phone in the field.) To get the most out of the Surface Go, I strongly suggest getting a Type Cover to go with it as well. An active stylus can be useful but is by no means essential; I have a Bamboo Ink stylus and it works very well with the tablet. All told, as long as you understand the limitations (which aren't severe considering its intended purpose), if you're looking for a small, lightweight device to surf the Web, watch videos, and be productive almost anywhere, the Surface Go is just what you need.
