Fast and compact Windows OS. Larger than a smartphone for easier viewing. It Fits in a 10"x8" note case that I had. For convenience I use a Microsoft folding mouse without a keyboard. The power supply fits in an accessory pocket. The charging port is reversible magnetic. However, the 15 volt charging port is not standard so you have to use the included charger. It would be more convenient to have a device to adapt to a standard barrel plug and could be used with a universal charging source such as in a vehicle.

Great PC to take on the road except for poor battery life. Very well made with quality speakers and display. Window Store app selection is thin. If you're looking for a lot of tablet-type apps, an IPad may be a better choice. If you need a small PC that can run actual Windows programs and not just apps from the app store, this is a good choice Just use free upgrade from Windows S to full Windows 10 and you're good to go. As a test, I was able to run Ubuntu 19.04 with VMware Player. It was kind of pokey, but it worked. So it is a capable machine for it's size.

Great build quality, great display, doesn't run hot. However, don't expect it to run everything as smoothly as other laptops with better processors at the same price range. Also wish it had more ports included. But it's a great laptop to carry around with you especially when you're traveling and don't need to run CPU/GPU-intensive programs. Only get this if you really want that portability. Otherwise, there are others that give you great value for your money.

      Hi there,

Thanks for sharing your Surface Go experience with the community! We're so glad you're loving the ultra-portable design for easy travel. If you're looking to add more ports to your device, we highly recommend checking out Surface Dock at Best Buy: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/microsoft-surface-dock-black/4561910.p?skuId=4561910.

This is a great way to expand your ports including four additional USB 3.0 ports, two mini display ports, and more!

We hope you continue to enjoy your Surface experience.

      Cheers,

I like the idea of an integrated tablet and windows PC, but the Surface Go falls short on a several characteristics. The size is great - sleek and portable, yet large enough to comfortably watch movies or browse the web. Set up is quick and easy, including adding additional language keyboards. For a Black Friday deal, the price is affordable at $449 (Best Buy price matched the Micro Center deal), but I would never pay near full price for it. The keyboard and pen are an additional $100, which defeats the purpose of buying an "affordable" 2-in-1. The Dell and Lenovo models are comparable in price and performance, and pen/keyboard are included. There are no USB ports which is a huge downfall, because I have to either buy a USB-C to USB hub converter at another $15+ to connect my wireless mouse, or buy an additional item - Bluetooth mouse. The touchscreen is far too sensitive, so the windows are constantly zooming in and out, and ads or other hyperlinks are constantly opened by mistake when trying to scroll down the screen. Also, video previews are difficult to play, or fast forward/rewind because if your finger even slightly brushes near or across the screen, the control bar pops up, and or new Windows magically appear. The Surface Go is cute and portable at best, but a waste of money because it falls short in cost effectiveness and quality. I returned after a week of use.

My girlfriend needed a replacement for her laptop which she uses to browse websites, create the occasional document and manage her email. This tablet (with the type cover) is perfect for this usage. She has really liked the portability and tablet form factor. Kudo's to Microsoft for making a great device, their lessons learned from making other Surface products really shine with all the small details they got right on this tablet. This isn't the device to get for playing games, but if you are a PC gamer you know that already.

Wanted something light weight and easy to carry between classes which this does. But within 2 months, it was freezing up and shutting down even when the battery was charged. Unless you turn off in-app purchases only, it is difficult to use a different browser (even after you turn off that setting) and download apps you could normally use.

I bought this one as a trial to play with for my company. They are looking at going to a handheld for their salesmen to carry to customer meetings. The main thing was being able to access everything that they use at the office, ERP, Outlook and Microsoft productivity tools plus their PDF tool Bluebeam. Since they were all already knowledgeable on Windows and extremely non-computer friendly, I felt it would be easier to just get them a tablet that was set up just like their computer in the office. I couldn't be more pleased.

As a dedicated Microsoft user for years, I have a lot of their products (The original Surface tablet, Surface 3, pro, and Surface book). I have been researching this new Surface Go tablet since Microsoft started advertising it. I got it immediately after it was up for sale. It has turned out to be my go to tablet for use at home, at work on the go. I would give this tablet more than 5 stars if they were available. The only issue with this tablet is no standard USB port. If you get this tablet make sure you get a USB-C to standard USB OTG cable.

By the time you add the keyboard and tax you're coming close to $700. You can buy a decent more powerful laptop for that. It's all about the form factor. I had a netbook , in fact I still use it from time to time. But the surface has a reasonable processor and a high enough res screen that I can RDP into my desktop machine without screwing up all my desktop icons. For simple tasks and ultra portability you can't go wrong.

Bought for wfh COVID 19 set up Pro-easy to set up, fast, looks great, small, camera and speakers work well Con- had to purchase: new monitor as existing one blurred words and numbers, cover as it didn't come with anything, mouse and additional keyboard to use, and docking station (adaptor) because it only has one small port. (Adding all these up brought me to the cost of a larger laptop.) The charging cord is too short and magnetic only, so it keeps coming disconnected.
