Cannot be used on lap without falling

Useless as a laptop because kickstand cannot keep it stable on lap. Keyboard is very loud and touch pad also clicks very loudly. Using in a quiet library annoys those around you.

When my last laptop (Lenovo) crashed in the middle of writing 3 contract, I freaked. My husband told me exactly what to go to Best Buy and get 1st thing in the morning. Since then I have noticed so many porfessionals with the same computer. It travels super easy, and so far I really have no complaints, hope it will last a long time like this.

Decent computer, lousy power adapter

Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this Surface because of it's sleek, low profile and lightweight design. Turns out that I had to return the 1st one because the flash drive crapped out. I lost all of my data. The 2nd one worked fine but then the power adapter crapped out. I had to buy a lower power adapter while I waited for Microsoft to ship me a new one. Now, the power adapter (transformer piece) is once again busted. Why can't they get this right?

Just an idea of how fast the SS technology is for this compared to traditional hard drives on laptops, I set up my son's laptop first and then went to setup the Surface. The setup on the Surface completed in a third of the time while the laptop was still installing files. Very happy with the performance but wish it came with a keyboard. The virtual one works ok, but the ones at the store were double the price vs online.

So far really liking the Surface.

The Surface boots fast, is easy to use and also has a nice email client (not Outlook) that allows me to have my private email and google work mail open at the same time. Over all I am very happy.

No fan (!!!) and long battery life (the i7 version is a bit more powerful but still requires a fan with extra noise and weight for the vents). Finally can use it in my hands without needing oven mitts, (lol). Love it. Well worth it if you need a tablet device with a full os on it to do real work.
