Customers are saying

Customers are satisfied with the Surface Pro 8's portability, screen size, and performance. Many appreciate its lightweight design and the speed of the SSD. However, some customers point to the battery life and the need to purchase the keyboard separately as drawbacks. The high price point and limited storage were also mentioned as areas for potential improvement.

I love that it is so seamless to transition from tablet to computer style with the keyboard. It really makes work on the go much easier. I am loving the sensitivity of the stylus as well.

After owning for awhile, I had to comment. Typically not a review person. Really had high expectations after reading all the reviews and previous models I owned. Love the form factor and screen clarity is good. Had to return the first one because it totally died and couldn't recover after a windows update. The replacement isn't faring that much better. The touch screen responsiveness is lacking, especially at the edges. It's not like I haven't used a touch screen before. It runs hot and maybe averages 6 hours battery. The on/off switch is poorly placed. I'm constantly turning it off with my index finger. Maybe a Dell XPS would have been a better choice.

The Surface 8 Pro is a great upgrade from past models. My only complaint is that the Micro SD card slot was removed for some silly reason. As a plus, you can actually upgrade the M2 SSD but that requires quite a bit of tech knowledge to make it happen. Otherwise, great upgrade all around.

I absolutely love the new surface pro. They were trying to switch me to a lap top 2 in 1 but i love the lightweight, easy to use, flexibility of the surface! Worth the extra money to me.

I used surface pro 7 before, never satisfied with the battery life, durability. I thought I would never use the surface pro series again but the design made me buy it again. You'll love it if you were satisfied with surface pro series before. Go for it !!

This is my second Surface, upgrading from a Surface 2. Same thing, but better. Battery life still the same, it's a trade-off for having a light portable computer.

I think this is better than the SurfacePro7 it replaced. The larger screen and USB-C ports are a welcome addition. Battery life so far seems to be as good or better than the SP7.

Great little tablet. I love the performance the storage limitation is less than desirable but that can be upgraded. Great laptop and Windows 11 doesn’t have much of a learning curve.

my review is for the 256gig model that is 1600$. all honesty, debated between a 2 or 3 star. i feel for what you are getting its a bit overpriced. i feel this is a combination of a tablet and a laptop but not the best of either one. even less if you dont get the keyboard/pen with it. as for a tablet, i think the potential is there. i feel it would be well worth the pricing if they had more tablet apps like games that a lot of your tablets have. call of duty mobile, pubg mobile, fortnite (for mobile) etc would probably run great on this. i know its not a gaming computer, but thats the great thing with tablets, they dont have to be and yet apps are made to work well with them. especially games. games made for tablets are usually dont take up as much hard drive space as well. for me, if they could have worked with devs and gotten some games made specific for this that are popular games that would have been well worth the price then and for me, i would have given a 4 to 5 star. to have an actual device that is a 2 in 1 with at least the best of the tablet world and still have futures from the laptop world would have been great. and the lack of not having a keyboard makes it more of a tablet but trying to use a laptop/desktop OS as well. would have been nice to have a simple tablet style OS. even with the keyboard if you get would have been nice to have the choice to use tablet mode that felt more like a tablet, or regular win 11 mode. as for laptop, without the keyboard/pen like i mentioned, it really felt more like a tablet. laptops come with a keyboard. you have to pay 280$ if you want the keyboard/pen combo. i feel the keyboard and pen are needed but i feel they should have been included. especially as this device so far like i have mentioned feels more like a laptop to me, but without a keyboard so its like a tablet but not at the same time. it has 2 thunderbolt 4 slots. thats great if everything was a usb-c connector. but most things are not there yet. it has no usb-a slots. and no hdmi slot. those at least are usually also what laptops come with. it would not be to bad a issue if maybe they provided a adaptor. yes you can plug in monitors to the thunderbolt 4. again, have to have a adaptor or a monitor that uses that. the charging port is unique. they use there own style. its nice in that its magnetic, but it does detach easily. there is also a gap in the middle between the 2 prongs that plug in. i feel they could have utilize this space and added a thunderbolt 4 in that space, and making one of the other thunderbolt 4 slots into a usb a port. one great idea that i do love is that the charging plug has a usb a port on it that you can use to charge with. it does not do data which i wished they could have done. but at least if you have a cell phone for instance, you can plug it in and charge. using the device just checking out youtube, facebook, etc and not even gaming i noticed that the lower right half got hot. the side that has the hard drive in it. using on the lap, if you want to use the keyboard was difficult. laptops have the keyboard and monitor attached together and dont require a stand. but with this, the keyboard does not support the screen, it has a built in stand. default with the screen is set to 60Hz. why? its a 120Hz screen so it would have been nice to have that as default. the cameras. the front camera is slightly worse the rear. granted they both are pretty good but with a tablet/laptop style computer i dont get that. maybe its me, but i know i am not going to be walking around taking videos or pictures with this with the back camera. i have a phone, or even a nice camera/camcorder for that. if i am going to do a video and use a camera its most likely going to be the front camera. also just lacked any kind of cover at all or sleeve. as for the good. like i just mentioned the cameras on this are pretty good. the mic picked up decent as well and the speakers got decently loud enough as expected with a small device. it does come with 2 thunderbolt 4 ports. you can also charge thru them so you can pack a smaller charger if you want. the screen is 120Hz, and 2880 x 1920 so looks great even though small. has intel i7 which is pretty good. and with the ssd HD it boots up fast. and 16 gig ram allows to multi task. overall if you are a student, this is great to have if you get the keyboard and pen with it. but in comparison. there is a 13" gaming laptop that felt better overall, and cost 100$ less. it has a rtx 3050ti graphics card so it can play games decently. it also has 16 gigs ram. and a 1tb SSD hard drive. has 2 usb-3 a hdmi, and a usb-a. screen is 120hz but just 1920x1200. it is a touchscreen and the keyboard can fold up behind making it also feel like a tablet. i feel that i can get a much better similar sized laptop that i dont have to pay extra for a keyboard and will do a lot as well. i just have a hard time wanting to suggest this. why i feel its a 3 stars.

Excellent Computer. Extremely light weight. Plenty of power and enough storage for most daily and business users. Conforms with latest version of windows, though I wish there had been a windows professional version rather than just the home version.

Ultra portable excellent options for docking station when needed as a desktop. Very fast and the drive is upgradeable. I recommend but it is overly priced for the specs. Dell has a more features packed alternative.
