Great Modem! Improved our WiFi significantly! Would highly recommend!

So far its been a great purchase. I didn’t realize how slow my previous modem was.

Probably best on the market, setup isn’t as easy as id wish tho.

What a great modem, router combination from Mororola at 32x8 Docsis 3.1 speeds with advance wifi. Having cut the cord a few years ago, Motorola is the best replacement for my Arris Surfboard that has been teetering on the brink lately even with a stand alone rounter. I am very impressed with the Motorola MG8702! It has a sleek design, works great and was easy to set up. The unit is a little on the large side. However, it is a very capable router/modem with plenty of ports so all things considered the size isn't that bad. The four ethernet ports are very handy as is the USB port for setting up a network hard drive for sharing. The range of the wi-fi is excellent. Haven't found any spots in the house so far that can't grab a good signal. One of the biggest issues with using your own router as compared to the one provided by your internet service is setting it up. I've set up a handful of routers of my own and they have always involved calling up the provider and waiting on hold forever while they configure things and get it going. Not this time! This was the easiest installation ever. Hooked it up and followed the instructions and had it running in less than 5 minutes. All without ever calling the provider (Charter Spectrum). Now your installation may very based on your internet provider, but I suspect it will go smooth for you as well. The fact that it is DOCSIS 3.1 means it should be compatible with service for a good number of years to come. If you are in the market for a router or a router/modem combo unit like this, I couldn't recommend it any higher!

I was excited to get this. I wanted a modem that could handle the internet speeds we were finally getting (had to fight there). The set up was pretty easy. Although the minim app isnt really all its cracked up to be. Great for pausing teens to get them to work but not much other functionallity. Now here's the reason i am writing the review 4 months later. The modem died this morning. I should of seen the signs one tv would have wifi but the other wouldnt. Now with two teens, a gamer husband and me working from home we push the modems hard. The last moden was a motorola and last 3 yrs. So we thought we would stick with the brand. Well that back fired.
