Customers frequently mention compatibility issues with certain internet service providers and some concerns about the router's range. Specifically, several users reported difficulties connecting with WoW internet service. Others noted that the Wi-Fi signal strength could be inconsistent in larger homes. Improvements in both compatibility and range would enhance the user experience.

Easy to set up. Speed connection is the same as it is written on the box. We use it for 17 devices without a problem.

I had a technician here while we are on the phone with Motorola brand new cable lines to the house and after about 3 hours it was determined that it was not compatible with WoW. I was able to see the speeds that it was pushing but for some reason we are unable to connect any devices. Would I recommend if you're a wow customer no. I'm kind of bummed I really wanted this to work. I would recommend to others.

I purchase the Motorola MG8725 AX6000 cable modem router as a replacement for the Netgear CAX80-100NAS AX6000. These two devices offer similar specifications. They both tout AX6000 Wi-Fi 6 connectivity and both have gigabit (1gbps) and multi-gigabit (2.5gbps) LAN ports.
I am a Comcast Xfinity customer who recently upgraded to the Extreme Pro 1200 plan and needed to upgrade my DOCSIS 3.0 cable modem to a DOCSIS 3.1 cable modem to take advantage of the speed in my new plan.
While the Netgear CAX80 suffers from wired connectivity problems, the Motorola MG8725 excelled.
The CAX80 would randomly drop my wired connection from its 2.5GbE port from my PC ruining gaming experiences and downloads. This occurs only when using the 2.5GbE port on the cable modem and a 2.5GbE port on my PC. However, on Netgear's community page, many users complained of the same issue and suggest that disabling the Wi-Fi on the device would "fix" the issue; and it did. But that is crippling my $500 experience.
The MG8725 does not make me suffer from choosing fast Wi-Fi 6 or fast 2.5GbE connections. In short, it just works, as advertised. It also costs $100 less than that of Netgear's offering/solution.
The set up was very easy and straight forward. The device has more customization options and I feel more in control of what my device can do according to my preferences. It's a great start to a new relationship between me and Motorola.
If you're looking for a device that can provide a strong, fast, wireless network while also allowing you to access above 1000mbps speeds through a wired connection, give this device a chance. From my experience, you won't be disappointed.

High-performance modem and router combination

This device supports the latest Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) standard and has an AX6000 rating, which means it can provide up to 6 Gbps of total bandwidth. It also has multiple Ethernet ports.
Note that this device is a combination modem and router, meaning it is designed to connect directly to your ISP's network and distribute the internet connection to your devices via Wi-Fi or Ethernet. If you already have a separate modem from your ISP, this device may not be necessary.
MG8725 may not be the best option if you need to extend your Wi-Fi coverage throughout a large home. If this is a concern, you may want to consider a mesh Wi-Fi system that includes multiple access points placed strategically throughout your home to ensure strong and reliable coverage.
Overall, the Motorola MG8725 can be a good option for a high-performance modem and router combination for your home network, but make sure to consider your needs.

Have been using this on the daily and have had 0 issues. I like having the 2.5Gbps port as my Xfinity plan is the 1200Mbps one. It is WiFi 6, however it doesn't have the 6GHz band, which I really wish it had, but that's just my opinion.

Updated my Comcast internet to a faster speed but old modem was not compatible anymore. This was listed as compatible modem + router of up to 1000mbps I believe. We use to get only 40-65mbps which didn't seem much of a problem unless multiple devices were streaming videos at the same time. Now we get 500-670mbps in WiFi speed when testing on in my Xfinity speed test phone app. What a higher difference! Haha We have a lot of Ring and Eufy cameras connected so love that it can shoot signal up to 12 devices which is great. Highly recommended!

Seems to help with the dead spots in our house. We had more with our Orbi router. Plus now we don't need to pay "rent" with our service provider for their modem.
Hope to use the VPN option when we get some time to set it up.

This is an overly expensive router $400 with tax I’ve hooked 20 devices to it does an ok job signal strength is ok could be better had multiple signal disconnect from my tv and ring cameras
Would recommend buying a wifi extender to get stable connection
There’s no 5G wifi that could switch if u desire faster speed.
I subscribe to xfinity 1000 mbs package I get with speed test like around 600 mbps

Setup with Xfinity was a breeze. Unfortunately, our internet keeps dropping off and we can only stream from one device at a time. Hopefully, this issue will resolve but not as impressed with the initial use.

For the price, i expected this to work better than Xfinity's box. Sadly thats not the case but im not giving Xfinity anymore money, so I'll keep it. Honestly, so how fast it says it is, i thought it was going to be off the charts and could see the difference. (I have 800 mbps). Nothing to write home about mainly because my house is very small and has issues connecting outside and further away bedrooms sometimes. Just weird. Figured it'd change between 2.5 and 5G signals but doesn't seem to.

Never got to use it, was not compatible with WoW out of the box. When the modem takes the signal from ISP, it isn't configured correctly and it shuts off the DHCP server not allowing you to connect to the modem with any devices. Talking with Motorola, they said the problem is with the ISP.

I bought this after not getting good Wi-Fi connection and so far have seen a significant difference with my kids streaming, working at home, etc. Super easy set up!!

Wasted a lot of time trying to get this modem/router to connect to the Comcast/Xfinity network. Even though it is one of the models on the Comcast list, the Comcast tech who came out to fix the problem couldn't get it to work either. I didn't have the time to install it right away, so now it's too late to return it to Best Buy.

I was never able to try it since it is NOT compatible with WOWWAY! ISP. Cannot recommend if you have this service provider unfortunately.. I wish Motorola and WOW both had an up to date list of compatible ISP’s and devices but then again maybe that’s asking for too much right?!…. Very frustrating.

Bought this modem about a month ago and it works fabulous. I’ve seen Motorola had This out and like all their equipment it’s the top of the line to me.

Internet keeps dropping
WiFi is very bad. The sq ft is not the same as advertised. I have less than 2500sqft and if I move away, it freezes and I have to turn Wi-Fi off so I can use my phone
