This is a great product! We have freed ourselves of monthly equipment rental fees and enabled our family to change DNS servers on our home network so we can have more control of our internet connection. If you are willing to put up with the initial headaches setting it up with the Comcast activation specialists in the Philippines who are not properly trained on activating customer-owned equipment , you will be very happy with this as a replacement for your Comcast-owned cable modem and router with built-in Xfinity Voice. The MAC addresses for this product have a different number of characters than Comcast-owned devices. This was confusing for the technicians I spoke with on the phone. Be prepared for a long phone conversation with very friendly but ill-trained staff. The technician will have to remotely activate both the Cable modem and the Xfinity Voice functions. These are separate processes, so be patient. Your patience will be rewarded once they finally activate both features. We purchased this router and cable modem combination for several reasons: 1) We wanted to save money over the long term by owning our own modem instead of paying Comcast $13 a month to use their equipment. 2) We wanted the ability to use a different DNS server on our network than what Comcast provides. You do not have this customization option on rented equipment. It was important to our family to be able to use an alternate DNS service that has built-in filters for objectionable content. Review guidelines preclude me from naming the particular free DNS service we use, but there are a few good ones out there. 3) We wanted to keep our Xfinity Voice service. If you do not already have Xfinity Voice, this product is not recommended as there may be other more suitable products for you.

The Motorola cable modem is compatible with my cable carrier and is working very well. I was renting the modem before buying my own modem. Buying was a wise choice. I will be saving money in the long run,

The modem was very easy to set up and it looks good too. The price is a little high but for the internet speed and the voice quality I am very pleased. I disabled the wifi, the house is set up with a Google Mesh system, so can't say too much about that.

I finally decided to get the internet telephone from xfinity, because they introduced an international plan for my wife to call home to New Zealand. I took their rental modem and already the fee went up from $10 to $13. I knew I had to get a modem to stop this bleeding of my wallet. I have always known that Motorola is a good company and makes phones and modems for other companies. I saw this modem and fell in love with its capabilities, ease of use and security. I know $200 may seem expensive, but it will pay for itself in our pleasure and money saved from not renting one.

My router had died and my modem was rented. I love replacing both items with one product. (My salesman recommended this.) This modem/router was the only one that could also facilitate both of my land lines. I also was extremely satisfied with the service geek rep that installed my unit. Many of the reviews said that the unit was easy to install, but I was already frustrated and anxious to get my internet back. He worked with my internet company in ways that I could not have. When there were problems, he was confident of his installation (and I probably would not have been) and asked them to double check their end. He knew "computer language" - I don't. Well worth the $$$

I purchased this modem to replace the rental fee from Comcast. You need to ensure that the modem that you select has a plug in for a phone service if Comcast or another vendor provides you phone service. It took about 1 hr to set it up and let Comcast know I was replacing it. In setting it up, I used the same 15 Character passcode from the old modem to ensure a smooth transition. Each device (wireless -laptop, printer, Ipad etc) must be linked to the Wi-fi via the modem. It goes smoothly if you take your time.

This router was purchased to replace the Comcast rental. I was impressed at the ease of setup, however, be warned that the 2.4 and 5.0 GHz channels require different network names. That did cause an issue with needing to reprogram some older equipment that still ran on the 2.4. Other than that, you are required to call or use your Xfinity app to activate your modem for the phone line. All is working well, in fact, I think the landline works better than with the Comcast box.

My Xfinity modem died and I was also using a Lynxsys router. This Motorola product replaced them both with superior performance. It has not gone down once in the month we have used it and it was easy to install. I couldn't be more pleased.

Don't know why we waited so long to get this Router/Modem things are so much faster & best of all it reduces my Comcast bill each month! It will pay for it self in a few months!

This is a really good modem. I highly recommend it. This modem/router was a replacement for the Xfinity modem. Now I didn't have to keep paying rent to Xfinity for a modem!

Great router and modem. No more renting have speed and range same has I did with the renting one from Xfinity. No more fees and I own it now recommend it won’t disappoint and hooking if up was easy. Only thing is no app support.

VERY GOOD MODEM/ROUTER FOR COMCAST SUBSCIBERS. Only product that allows connection for telephone via Xfinity. Very fast and simple to use. Was hoping for less cost but competitive in price with other brands.

This was easy to set up. Just follow the instructions, and we were operational quickly. Speed is good, and no more paying rent to Comcast. Bought this model because my spouse needs the landline on days she works from home.

It was purchased to update an earlier model from the same manufacturer. The router range is excellent, reaching all areas of the house. Start-up was not entirely smooth but performance is very stable.

This modem was easy to install and works great with Comcast. I like the fact that it has a separate guest access to the modem. My guest noticed that the Motorola Router was faster then the previous Comcast modem we had.

Great piece of equipment. Easy to set up even for tech challenged people. Plugged in and router did all the work. Great price as it is replacing cable rented router. Will pay for itself in less than a year.

This was the easiest set-up I’ve ever done for a modem/router. Didn’t even have to call Comcast. It’s been working fine and will save me $14 a month on my internet bill. Good purchase.
