This modem works well so far. However, I'm disappointed that the back-up battery option (in case of a power outage) would serve to power only the telephone. It would work to power the internet. Had I known that a back-up battery would not power all the modem's functions, I would not have bought it.

Happy so far. Initial set up issues requiring contact with Xfinity but suspect issue was more with them than the Motorola router. Seems to have a stronger WiFi signal as haven’t had to initiate a signal booster as was the case with the Xfinity router.

Was told by my carrier that my fairly new modem needed to be upgraded to a faster modem. Motorola MT7711 was purchased less than a year ago. Replaced older computers and had to get yet another modem!!!

This modem is Plug-n-Play. Setup was breeze done under 10mins which is quickest setup time I ever had. Just plugout old one and connect new one, enter comcast password and it's done. Amazing product! Works well on Comcast

    Best modem for Xfinity Applications

This modem is the best and will outperform the Netgear modem. It will outlast the Netgear modem which presents several technical problems with a poor technical support team. I was able to set this modem up without any support from Motorola.

I was debating on purchasing my own modem or renting, but went with purchasing my own. Found that the Motorola we purchased was better than what we would get from Comcast and would pay for itself in a year and a half. This modem has four data outputs and is phone capable, it was a great purchase.

After many months of hassles with Comcast over poor connectivity and service, I replaced my modem. Without a doubt the problem was with Comcast. I finally got a new external connection, and the modem is working very well.

We thought our old modem was shot and went looking for the best replacement we could find. The Motorola AC1900 had the best rating and it hasn't disappointed. Getting it activated with Comcast wasn't as straight forward as it should be, but it now works fine. WIFI strength is noticeably better than our older NetGear unit

Installed perfectly by Comcast tech - everything that i needed for the Internet and the phone. Even the TV screen improved, probably because the modem was stronger or better. No rental fees and item will be paid off within a year.

If your buying this for Xfinity 1 Gb, you need to go ahead and get a DOCSIS 3.1 as that the "filtering" Xfinity uses will only allow this modem to operate up to 650 Mbps. Outside of that the unit operates as advertised and has been easy to work with.

I bought this summer 2020 to reduce my Comcast Xfinity bill. So far I've had NO problems (knock on wood). Since technology is always changing I have no idea how long I can use it, but it has already paid for itself with a lower cable bill. :)

If you’re looking to be able to turn your WiFi on and off through xfinity or just give access to those guests who come over, forget about it. You can only do that with a modem/router that you get through xfinity. I was told because it had the name on the box and was endorsed that it would work but no. Also the range is smaller than what’s on the box. Not by much but it isn’t very strong. It’s good for day to day stuff but I recommend getting a better one if you have the money.

Not Approved for Xfinity Business Internet!

Bought this to save money on the Xfinity modem for a simple business Xfinity internet plan 200MB. Box clearly says compatible with XFINITY internet and voice. Xfinity says this modem is not compatible with Xfinity business internet. I have been waiting for Xfinity to install the new modem for 3 weeks. Xfinity does not allow a self install for a business. Have no idea why. The home self install is simple and easy. Return window has closed. Box should clearly say Xfinity Residential Internet compatibility or not compatible with Xfinity business internet.

Want to change the username for the modem? Too bad. It will claim to save it once you change it, but then will claim both the new AND original username are invalid. I’ve had to factory reset this modem more than four times, but it’s the same problem over and over. Due to factors I’m not listing here, I didn’t try setting up this modem until after the exchange period ended. I hate this product and wish I tried setting it up sooner, because I would have returned it right away.

Downloads are ok. Uploads are meh on Comcast gigabit. Wifi performance is ok but you're always better off with a legit router and a separate modem. Configuration options in the admin settings are decent but the GUI is a bit old fashioned. Wouldn't recommend for beginners unless your Google-Fu is strong.

This modem works, I now save $14.00 a month on my Xfinity bill. This is not a plug in and play modem unless you are very tech savvy. It took the tech guy about an hour and a half to help me set it up. I now have 5G.

It is an excellent product that is slim enough to fit on the shelf of the table next to my DVR and video game systems and does not stand out in the room. Product works well, no issues. Would highly recommend this to others rather than renting one from Xfinity
