Good purchase after all.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Instructions didn’t make it easy to install. I had to look a YouTube video in how to do it, but modem/router works as it should.

Great coverage on 3800 sq ft home
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. No matter what modem/router Comcast provided, we needed a wifi extender and sometimes that signal was weak in the back of the house. This modem/router gives lightning fast internet all over the house and the range extender is no longer needed. We chose this model because we still use landline phone service from Comcast. Easy to set up using the Xfinity app. Very, very pleased.

No more rental fees!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I usually don’t write reviews but this cable modem was so easy to install my 9 year old could have done it! Just read the instructions, connect your computer via an Ethernet cable, and off you go. It was so easy to rename the default names to your original WiFi names. The internet download speeds doubled from the Comcast provided modem. I am very pleased with this purchase!

Great
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Better than Netgear it replaced. The most easy wifi to set up. Took 5 minutes, or less. Basically connect your internet cable, then connect to your PC. Turn on your PC and it will direct you from there. Too easy. With the Netgear, think I spent half a day getting it to connect to my internet provider ( Xfinity).

Motorola Modem/Router Works Well With Comcast
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This modem/router works perfectly with Comcast services, specifically internet and phone. I called Comcast to help me set things up and with their customer service rep's assistance, it was very straightforward and took very little time.

Good quality modem/router for Xfinity
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works good for triple play option of Xfinity. TV, WIFI, and landline phone. You can change the ssid and password to what you want. Two bands 2.4 and 5g but 5g is faster. Just one minor issues I have. Not sure if this occasional temporary error below is this modem, my lan attached laptop, or Xfinity. It is annoying going from one website page to another site. Within 5-10 seconds the next page displays okay. No internet. Try: checking the network cables, modem, and router • Reconnecting to Wi-Fi • Running Windows Network Diagnostics ERR_INTERNET_DISCONNECTED

No Good
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I spent an hour trying to get it to work. Called XFINITY and spent over an hour with a technician then the technician says she’ll have to call the manufacturer MOTOROLA. After 15 minutes she says she’s leaving but will call me back I was on hold for over an hour and 10 minutes and decided to call a different Motorola number which was in the pamphlet that had the installation directions and said if you need help to hook it up call this number. After being on hols 15 to 20 minutes an incoming call shows on my phone from XFINITY. I answered and the tech tried for another 10 minutes to get it working The tech gave up and told me to reconnect the old router and return the new one which I did.So in summary at the moment I have the old one working but it buffers I,ll try an ARRIS next but not a MOTOROLA They didn’t,t answer the phone.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Motorola Dual Band Modem/Router,,it does just what I expected it to do,,although I wish BestBuy would have had the Docsis 3.1 instead the 3.0,,but it still works fine,,glad I do not have to for equipment rental fees that Xfinity/Comcast charges its customers who use their modem.

Don't buy Motorola. Bad product and bad service.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have 400mbps plan. At the first 2 weeks, the download speed is about 200mbps. but afterward, the speed is getting down and down... From 200 to 100 then even 50mbps. I contacted Motorola customer service. They just tried to point the finger to ISP even I told them the download speed with an Ethernet cable is good only the wifi speed is very bad. I will never buy any Motorola product.

did you think about the provider serving you?
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Did anyone think that the disconnects you are having are not the fault of the Router/Modem but the provider of your Internet/Cable?? Has anyone mention for you to update your program to a more costly one? If a problem with the Router/Modem then the next place I would look at would be the ones providing the service...Just saying.

5G WiFi speed on IPv6 much slower than advertised
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this modem (Motorola MT7711) because it advertised download speeds over LAN and WiFi much greater than my subscribed cable speed of 400 Mbps (from Comcast). While the speed test showed that its speed on LAN (when a computer is connected to the modem using LAN cable) matched my cable's subscribed speed on both IPv4 and IPv6, its speed on 5 GHz WiFi (at the maximum possible WiFi bandwidth of 80 MHz) is less than half (about 175 Mbps) of the subscribed speed (400 Mbps) over IPv6. Please note that applications by default use IPv6, not IPv4, so it is very important that it gives the full speed on IPv6. Only when the speed test is forced to use IPv4 that it gives the subscribed speed (400 Mbps) on 5 GHz WiFi (when using 80 MHz WiFi bandwidth). This behavior is very consistent and is clearly a software issue (the problem only happens on 5 GHz WiFi on IPv6, not on 5 GHz WiFi on IPv4). Also, it looks like the maximum speed that this modem can ever give on 5 GHz WiFi on IPv6 (at the maximum 80 MHz WiFi bandwidth), irrespective of how high is the cable's subscribed speed, is about 175 Mbps. When reached out to Motorola, their only response (besides having me do a modem reset, which made no difference) was to swap out the modem with another one (which they said could also be a refurbished one). But that is not going to solve the problem. Since it is a software problem, it needs to be fixed in the software. Despite repeated requests, Motorola did not show any interest in doing the software fix. Unfortunately, I discovered this critical issue after the 14 day return period; so I am stuck with it. It is so disappointing to be relegated to less than half of the subscribed speed due to this software issue with the modem, which Motorola has no interest in fixing.

Cannot Recommend for Comcast
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this modem in good faith based the box said it was compatible with Comcast....I purchased it....had it installed...and NOPE...it was not good at all....took it back. I do not recommend, at least for Comcast customers

Poor streaming performance
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this modem/router after 2 years of limping along with DSL during COVID work at home. I haven't regretted drilling holes in walls to get cable internet yet... However, I believe this modem has a significant issue with streaming video calls. It only happens at home on my laptop. Every 3-5 minutes, the video and audio stall for 5-8 seconds. I miss key business information. My connection at work and other poor Internet connections at hotels do not have this issue.

Comcast told me to return this
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had to call Comcast over a dozen times to even get this activated. Once it was, it kept factory resetting itself several times duting the day. Never got my voice service to work. Couldn’t take it anymore and swapped it out for an Arris SVG2482 which is so much better.

The bridge mode is broken
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For those of you who desire bridge mode, this modem technically allows it after a multi-step process. Then on any kind of reboot or reconnect request form Xfinity, the modem loses the bridge mode, forcing you to set it up all over again. Tends to happen every two days.
