This modem/router was purchased to replace one that I had been "renting" from xFinity. the current modem/router is as good, if not better, than the previous one.

Only had it 3 months it quit working I won’t buy Motorola again

Top of the line if you have XFINITY and great tech service.

Returned. Did not work with Xfinity voice. After a service appointment from Xfinity it was determined that the voice portion of the Modem/Router was not working. May have been a defective unit.

First I tried the Arris G36 which is fast and has a strong signal when it works but setting it up with the app or web interface was basically impossible as both lose connection with the router randomly. I couldn't even change the DHCP lease time with it. The settings indicated I had changed the lease time but every 24 hours the lease for all of my smart devices would renew anyway. The last straw was when it reset itself to factory default for no apparent reason while I was at work losing all of the settings I had managed to change. Then I tried the Netgear Nighthawk AX2700, what a complete piece of garbage it ended up being. It never worked so I contacted their customer support which I'm pretty sure a random person working the drive-thru at McDonalds would be more knowledgeable. I couldn't get any devices to connect to the Netgear unless I disabled DHCP and gave everything static IPs. Netgear's bright idea for me to solve this issue was for me to change my SSID which I had had the same one for over 10 years. Not sure how that would have helped anyway so I returned it to the store as well. Finally I tried the Motorola MT8733, apparently the 3rd time is the charm. I could not be more impressed. In about 15 or 20 minutes from taking it out of the box I was online with everything set the way I wanted. The WiFi is stong and fast! I also tested the wired speed from one of the ethernet ports and I'm getting 1 Gbps. I've had a landline for years but I've never actually used it. Since the MT8733 has two phone line ports I hooked up a phone to it and that works great as well. There isn't much to the Motosync app outside of some parental controls, pausing your WiFi, and other basic functions. But everything you need if you want to adjust some settings like say your DHCP lease time can be found on the web interface (192.168.0.1) This modem/router is a little pricier than the other two I mentioned but if you're wanting to upgrade to Wifi6 or DOCSIS 3.1 then this is your device. The biggest pro to me was how easy it was to set up as it actually worked the way it's supposed vs the other two products. Besides that it just works, it also looks great sitting on my dresser.

Easy to set up. Speed as promised. Compatible with Xfinity internet, TV and Voice. Pricy. But saves money in the long run.

Great motor, connecting is excellent and is compatible with xfinity. set up was extremely easy too, definitely plan to have this motor for life.

Great speed, range and signal strength throughout the house poor. Had to purchase an extender to increase signal strength. Would recommend for speed, not for range or signal strength.

I bought this modem/router to replace an old one that I disliked and didn’t trust. This one is expensive, but I love it! Unlike the old modem, this Motorola has easily visible blue and yellow indicator lights and the app lets me know exactly what’s going on with my system. Motorola was thinking of consumers when it made this device. I am no tech genius but i had this installed in about 20 minutes. Registering it with Xfinity took a few seconds and I didn’t have to call, it all happened online. So far the modem has been reliable and my wireless is stronger upstairs than it was before. I’m very happy with this device.

I upgraded my Xfinity cable modem and increased my download speed. Very happy with this purchase.
