Asolutely, the right size switch for my fully ethernetted home. Since purchased it has worked perfectly and supplies all the rooms in the house and the pool house. Couldn't be happier.

I have large house that was previously used for commercial and have been converting the existing cat5 based PBX wiring into ethernet. I was using a netgear 8 port switch but there were stability issues (suspect wiring) but as I finished replacing jacks 9 and 10, I upgraded to the 16port switch. The whole network is more stable now and even through its old cat 5 ( not even cat5e ) I'm getting the full 1000Mbps on most ports...even on connections with more than 200ft of cable. With 400Mbps internet, a gigbit is needed to take advantage of it.

I needed extra ports, as more capacity was developed at my office. Have used it for couple months, and have had no issues. Nice little Ethernet switch.

Needed a switch with 14 ports so this netgear worked great for my needs. Easy to install and setup and has been flawless so far over the first month.

This was an upgrade for a switch with the same number of ports. This one is much more compact and works flawlessly. Netgear has great products.

Solid option if you’re looking for a lot of Ethernet ports. Everything in my place is hardwired and this offered enough connections, leaving me plenty to spare.

The Blue Netgear unmanaged switches are the gold standard for reliable, no-hassle Gigabit switches. I've used the GS105 and GS108 for years. To reduce spanning-tree problems (and eliminate a non-Netgear swtich), I purchased this 16-port version. It's been a month, but so far, so good. And as far as I can tell, I don't see any major spanning-tree issues if I plug or unplug a switch off of one if this one's ports.

This is the fourth Netgear FS ethernet switch that I've purchased over the last 15 years, and I love the durability and dependability of these Netgear switches. Have the FS105, 108, and now the 116 in my home network (the FS105 having been acquired circa 2005), and I gave my brother my other FS108 because he needed a dependable Ethernet switch for his home. Got this unit on sale at Best Buy, so it was an even better value.

I thought I was doomed when my office network was down one Monday morning. My local Best Buy had this product in stock and I picked it up. As advertised, it was a process of simply unplugging the old non-functioning unit and plugging this new one in. There was no software or any programming needed to get it functioning. Very easy. The old unit was a much larger box and had a fan -- this one is much smaller and has no fan which makes it run silent.

For small office applications where you don't need a managed switch, this is an excellent option that you should consider.
