Easy setup but get router,modem all in one instead

It works, but...

The Modem works fine and it was very easy to activate it online through Comcast. I pay for a 300 Mbps service and I get 360 Mbps. My only problem is that it runs hot and I have a fan blowing on it to keep it cool. I got in touch with Netgear tech support and my option are to take it back to the store and get another or RMA back to Netgear but I would have to pay shipping, which they are willing to wave after a few emails back and forth, but I would have to wait for a replacement that will take who knows how long. Not an option because that will leave me without service. The 2 stars for performance is for running so hot. I do not leave the house often but when I do, I unplug it as a precaution as I do when there is an electrical storm!

Probably a great modem

Awesome for Xfinity

Works on my connection of over 300Mbps - don't need the latest. Super reliable for last half of a year since switch, never an issue. Had carrier support person use it to install so can't comment on how easy/difficult it was to install.

Overheats

Not an easy switch with Xfinity

Virtually Plug and Play

I didn't even need a router I could plug my laptop into the modem and the computer acted as it's router.
