Netgear makes pretty decent stuff, and I have yet to feel like they are low quality. I have been happy with everything I have purchased from them. Easy to use, and works like it should. It needs mounting holes to mount it to a wall though. Only complaint I have.

Good Purchase

I went to the a Best Buy store, and received excellent assistance. I purchased the NETGEAR CM500-100NAS cable modem. The price was very good, and it works great. I am very satisfied with the support I received at the store and my purchase.

So glad I did, for it turned out my old router/modem was a 2 in 1 and worked terribly. Decided to get a separate router and modem this time and that was definitely the right decision. This modem works great and wasn't even that expensive. I recommend!

You get what you paid for

It's not an up-to-date model, but with nice downstream speed (not upstream though), that's what you've paid for. And a little plus, it's a NETGEAR. What's disappointing about this modem is its LED indicators. All 5 LEDs are so tiny on the panel, almost invisible and therefore not really useful. Suggest to make them bigger and brighter on those new models.

Reliable and Cheaper than competitor

I would go with this one because it is cheaper and the case is black so it is easier blending in a corner. Downside is the first one self-rebooted once every one or two days, so I have to swap for another one and this one has been working reliably so far.

Worth the purchase

It was easy to set up and I wish I wouldn't have waited so long to buy one. In less than a year it will pay itself off. Good deal so far all around. No loss in connectivity, we have cell phones, computers and use netflix& Hulu for our TV... it handles everything well!
