As a result I needed to keep the Time Warner modem in order to keep my phone functioning. While Time Warner is not charging me for the modem that they are allowig me to use for the phone service I have through them, I now have two modems instead of one. This required me to get a coaxial splitter and make additional cable to make the necessary connections. Having said that, the payback for the unit is about 12 months.

Buying this separate was the same price as buying their 2-in-1s.
