but after the 6 months it started to slow down and then stopped giving access completely. Now I am stuck having to buy a new item because the company will do nothing after 90 days. Cheap product that never really gave any increase over the standard modem given by the service provider.

    Difficult to Install

We bought this modem/router to replace a like device that had expired. Installing it, however, proved to be a painful experience. After several failed attempts to complete the installation, we called first CenturyLink and then Netgear for tech support. After about 45 minutes on the phone with a Netgear tech, we finally were able to get it to make the CenturyLink internet connection. Once the connection was made, it worked fine. However, the 5g option on the computer did not appear on the TV connections menu for streaming purposes. I don't know if that is important.

The set up was fairly easy once I called Century Link for my DSL's ISP.

Signal drops every 5 minutes. Issues has been known since 2015. No fixes from netgear and no warning from BB sales guy. Complete waste of money and time. I now have to buy another modem. The irony? last Netgear product worked fine and it is in the BB recycle jungle.

Drove 35 miles in the rain to get this router/modem another 35 back plugged it in and it wouldn't connect with computer or smartphone. I called Netgear and they wouldn't even talk to me unless I paid them another $129.95! I asked for supervisor and they said one would call me in 10-15 minutes an hour later still no call. I will return it ASAP! Best Buy was no help with the connection either.
