Q: Does this work with Centurylink?
A: Yes, it works well with Century Link, but I had to call them to get my DSL Internet Service Provider username and password. I wasted an hour trouble shooting and digging through old files; I should have made the call to Century Link Tech support right away.
Q: Does this modem/router work with Windstream?
A: Yes it does... now that we are not "required" to use Windstream modem, I bought this one. Works great and I do not pay them a monthly fee ...and they just increased that fee too.
Q: What is denial of service protection?
A: A denial of service attack is when a hacker locates your IP address and then causes you Internet to go down. This modem protects against ddos attacks
A: Yes. i have not had any problems with Frontier since I purchased this item. Before I was experiencing the same problems as you are. My advice is to pick one up in-store at a Best Buy, try it for 14 day return period, if it doesn't solve your problem, return it. I loved mine and did not return:)
Q: Does this plug into a regular phone/DSL line? Was told by someone at Walmart it does not
A: Yes it does.
A: Mine works with DSL line and I had used it to replace the att modem. All items are in the box. You will need your log on name and PIN for ATT account which is a rarely used account for me.
A: The NETGEAR AC1600 uses Wireless AC technology and has range of a 400-600 feet, depending on router location and type building construction.
