This router has Denial of Service Protection, which is a layer of protection that prevents a virus or malware from denial of service. Think of it like going to buy tickets for a concert or movie on a website and it just keeps loading, or gives an error of "server not found" because so many people are trying to buy all at once. In the other direction someone would use there computer to send so many large packets to your I.P address that your internet connection gets clogged up and rendered useless.
