I'm using this modem in combination with a Linksys router I purchased at the same time. It's fast, easy to set up...it just plain works. No headaches, glitches, lost connections (which I used to experience).

It's easy to set up, and the speed is good. It works well with other Netgear items. But, I don't think the range is all that great.

This modem is one of the easiest I've ever setup. I followed the instructions to contact my provider and obtained my DSL ID and DSL Password before starting the setup. Once I had those I plugged in the new modem, and followed the basic instructions. The setup only took a few minutes. The best DSL equipment experience I've ever had. And, the new modem is functioning very well. Speed is as good, or slightly better than my previous 4 1/2 year old modem. Very satisfied with this modem.

I've purchased two of these, one for my parents (about 2-3 years ago) and one for my aunt (few months ago); both use DSL for internet service. Setup on these is quite easy, follow the instructions and you'll be ok. Don't be afraid of messing it up, these things are pretty hardy. I can't speak about customer service because I've never had to use it, but Netgear is definitely a brand I trust. The price is solid for this type of modem, you really won't find anywhere below the $49.99 mark nowadays (the previous model was $39.99 typically) unless you buy a refurbished one online somewhere, but it always puts my mind at ease to buy from an actual store I can go to if there is problems or if the unit is defective. Both of my units worked flawlessly the first time, haven't had a problem since.

I live at the outer edge where it's barely possible to have DSL, so I had some problems with dropouts and switched to this modem. It seems it either held onto the signal better or at least recovered better and quicker than my old modem. But it did not totally fix everything. It turned out I needed my ISP to reset my line from ADSL2 mode to ADSL1, and the signal is now very solid. Nonetheless I am keeping this unit because the user interface via it's web server is so easy to set up and use, and I like how it reports information about the line signal strength. The web interface is also much more responsive than all my older network devices. It's a keeper.

My parents still believe in DSL, their "Provided" modem kept dying. A replacement by their "Provider" was $75-150+. I couldn't believe it when the guy from tech support was eagerly selling me this....it turns out that the dead modem was like #3 that my parents had bought in this fashion. You see, they are ADDICTED to the internet, so when it goes down because of a modem, the world is ending. Thank god for BB keeping some stores around, all I had to do is drive down to my local BB, pick this puppy up, and we were rocking in less than an hour. BIG bonuses with this device: - Includes a router, so you can def get most of the basic routing needs taken care by this gem. - If you already own a router, and rather use it as a modem, no problemo. A simple click of a setting and this thing only acts as a modem. to which I say: SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEET! - The blinking lights would not be seen from orbit. They're just right, not too dim, not to bright. I recommend: DO NOT, DO NOT set this guy horizontally, it comes with some nice clip-on legs, please use them. Vertical is the way to go.

I replaced a leased, unreliable combo modem / router with this modem. Very easy-to-follow set-up and excellent support. Had to be re-booted once in first 6 weeks, but I can live with that just fine. Price is great and Best Buy staff were very helpful and knowledgeable.

Purchased for my son, who is in college, and was looking for a combo device, that does not take up much space. Fit the bill, and he is quite pleased with this. He is a gamer, so his internet use is huge. He is very happy with the speed of this.

Setup was very easy. I called ATT before stating the setup to get my DSL id and password. I followed the easy setup instructions, provided my id and password and the modem completed the process. Very easy and quick. I've been using the modem for a few weeks and no issues. Have not had to reboot once. Pleased with the his modem.

This modem works as described and I have no complaints with the ease of setup or features. I am currently on my second one of these units within the span of a year. I am using this with AT&T DSL and this is the only modem I was able to find locally in order to replace AT&T's factory equipment in a jam. However the first Netgear Modem I purchased died around 9 months after installation. Connected through a Panamax surge protector, so I am hoping it was just a faulty product and I will have no other issues.

Bought this to replace a dead Actiontec modem for my home DSL from CenturyLink. The unit works perfectly in conjunction with my Airport Extreme. The plug-and-play set up could not have been easier--was working in minutes. And the low price was great--much better than what CenturyLink charges.

Who knew a modem could be slowing down your internet speed? It finally just quit connecting; I installed this Net Gear modem and immediately regained speed that has been missing for over a year! Very happy camper. Also takes up less space than my old one.

I am so happy with my decision to purchase this for my home internet service. I am a registered Comcast customer for many years, and have ALWAYS been unhappy with the equipment they've provided me. The past year has been, by far, the worst experience I've had... I literally replaced 5 different modems they sent me. I was having to reset my modem as many as 8 times a day. The signal just kept dropping - or I'd have access on one laptop, but not another. Out of outreach, I finally went and purchased this router and a modem and it's been the best decision I've ever made in relation to internet service. Thank you to my friends who suggested I tell Comcast to keep their junk and buy my own!
