Not much to say. Brought it home and put it in modem only mode. Used my Airport Extreme to connect to the modem and CenturyLink over PPPoE. Everything is working.

I'm a 69 year old with no technical expertise. I bought this product when I moved in order to get the wireless service I needed. I called the phone number on the product and got amazingly good technical support. Product has worked perfectly.

Connection was very easy, and it's definitely faster than my old modem. I have a Netgear WIFI too, and since it performs well, I chose to buy Netgear again. I'm glad I did.

Store employee had me purchase wrong modem

Took my old modem to Best Buy and request assistance. Employee responded and said that he was able to sell me the correct modem. He looked at the defective modem I brought in and asked if CenturyLink was the provider. I responded yes. Purchased this modem he recommended and tried to install. Could not make it work. Called CenturyLink. they reviewed all I did for wiring and computer setup and said it was correct. CenturyLink then asked I get the box and read the number. I did so and was informed that I was sold the wrong devise. I had to return to the store, turn in the devise for credit and obtain assistance for the correct modem. The new sales clerk knew the original modem was not compatible and said he did not understand why it was sold to me. This wasted several hours of my time and I was not pleased with the experience. (This product did not work, the CenturyLink product I was sold when I returned, hooked up immediately and works.) I blame the first salesman for wasting my time with the wrong product.

I got because i wanted to replace my simple Windstream 4300 with a smarter DSL and get ready for future higher speeds. My current speed is 3 Mbs should be getting 6 soon and maybe up to 25Mbs I installed the Netgear, switched it to modem mode and it was up and online faster that the 4300.

DSL stopped working Frontier said the problem was inside my house so I bought a new modem. Turns out 28 other people in my neighborhood had the same problem at the same time. Frontier also said they do not support this modem. Time to change internet providers.

I have only been using this for about a month now. I haven't had any problems and it increased the internet speed. (Keeping in mind my previous modem was over 5 years old.) I had to call customer support for assistance setting up the modem.and was very pleased. The 4 star rating is only because I very seldom give a perfect score. There is always room for improvement.

Great modem but terrible phone help from Netgear

Great modem. Terrible phone support from Netgear. Waited 30 minutes and when it was our turn, the representative disconnected us when it was my turn. Redialed and waited another 30 minutes and still on hold, so dialed another phone in our household to try while staying on hold on the other. Got through on the 3rd try but the representative dropped our call and although she'd asked for our phone number and promised to call us if the call was lost she never called. Called our local phone company which is also our ISP and their tech support expertly and professionally had us up and running in minutes. This was not a plug and play and the directions were almost non-existent. If we'd had directions we wouldn't have needed to call anyone. Long story shorter, we had to connect the computer to the modem without the router and after getting a "handshake" then connect the modem to the router and to the computer which then had all the equipment happy and working. Best Buy was excellent in shipping the modem quickly. Prepare to ask your ISP or Best Buy for help if needed because you won't get any support from Netgear. Loses one star for non-existent support.

My old DSL modem finally went out and the NetGear was recommended. The set up was so easy that I was back online in 5 minutes. Everything I needed was in the box including contact numbers for the ISP's. Since switching over - it seems like the intermet speed is faster wtih little buffering.

Glad they had one. Stand alone Dial up modems are becoming obsolete. Price was right. Would have given 5 stars but the setup was not like they said. No instructions for help and had to involve phone company. Other than that it fixed all my delay and disconnect issues. Thanks
