My old DSL modem died and needed a new one. I have Century Link service and didn't want to spend $100 for their modem. Instead I trusted this NETGEAR DSL modem and saved $50.

This product didn't seem to support the speeds Verizon promised despite the product information being to the contrary. Being fair-minded... I do not want to criticize the product negatively as it could have easily been the service providers fault. I am sure that there have been times when you were told by a service provider that it was your equipment's fault and not theirs. Most often it was later discover it was the provider's lack of promised service. That being said... I have used Netgear products many times over the years and been very satisfied. Needless to say I switched service providers and I am now on cable rather than ADSL. So I went right out and bought another Netgear Cable Modem that I am very pleased with. I believe in Netgear and the superiority of their products.

had one just like it and had a hardware failure so replaced with the same one..lasted amost 5 years so..

I had to install my modem manually rather than with the disc. This was due to my internet server. The customer service person was very patient and thorough and successful!

My old AT&T modem died. I needed an inexpensive substitute. This fit the bill very well. Has worked well.

My old modem from the beginning of time died - went to Best Buy and a sales person helped me select the right one for my Centurylink account. Easy-breezy! Love Best Buy!

This was very easy to set up with the existing Netgear router. Works just fine with our ATT internet.

My ATT modem went kaput and I chose this as the replacement as it stated it was compatible with ATT. The set up was easy and I was back online in less than 30 minutes. It has not increase my download speed but that is more of an ATT issue.

I found the modem very easy to install and get working on my network. The materials to get started were helpful and the blue light, versus a red or white light on the box is less jarring for late night as I am in a studio and night lighting matters.

PROS: Modem was easy to set up with a few instructions from Internet Provider Have only had it about a month, but so far no problems and seems to work well. CONS: Wish it had more than one port. I have a Nighthawk attached to it for wireless. Again seems to work quite well..

This particular modem works well for Centurylink services.

Bought this as a temp to replace the AT&T router, I was wrong. Not the manufactures fault.

I was looking for a modem to replace the one I had for 7 years and found this one. The connections are a lot faster now. I should've got this one a while back.

This item was easy to set up and use. My biggest problem was the person that originally sold my wife a modem that would not work with my phone company. The nearest best buy is 20 minutes away, so an hour later and 2 gallons of gas, I had the correct modem. This modem works great, 2nd person to help me was very helpful.

I have struggled with my AT&T DSL service for over 3 years. I have spent probably 30 calls, 30 hours on the phone with their tech support for issues in which my DSL signal would drop out as often as every few minutes. Multiple sites visits by technicians and four AT&T-supplied DSL gateways later (two different brands) and the issues were never resolved. Finally I decided to purchase my own modem and router. Since I dumped the AT&T combination gateway units and replaced them with this Netgear - Adsl2+ Broadband DSL Modem and a separate NETGEAR Nighthawk AC1900 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router I have experienced just a handful of very short interruptions in the last month. Should have done this years ago!
