Great replacement for obsolete CenturyLink modem

Although the signal comes in full, it struggles from time to time depending on where I carry our laptop. I don't think this is specific to this particular router, however I am still looking for that router than can break through these walls. Also it says that you can hook up a networked external hard drive and I have yet to figure out how to get that to work.
