Good all-around modem

It had been a while since I'd worked with setting up a DSL connection. When using this modem with your own router, you will need to switch it into standalone (or bridge) mode, which wasn't clear in the instructions.

The modem worked as expected.

My disappointment was the difficulty getting it to "talk" to the router, which is also Netgear. Not intuitive at all (Linksys routers are much easier to install). After a couple of reboots all is working fine.
