Netgear Support Could Never Get It to Work

To make a long story short, Netgear worked with me in 3 different support sessions with 2 different units for hours and hours and could never get it to work with Windstream service. They were convinced the first unit must be DOA, so we tried a second to no avail. They could not determine the problem.

buyer beware if you want a long-lasting modem

Per the customer service rep (who took 30 minutes on hold to reach) it 'ran out of service' -- but they could fix it from their location for $140 for 4 or 5 more years of service...?! We did NOT opt for that fix; had we known up front it would only last 2 years we would have gone for a different modem in the first place.

Bought this Netgear - Adsl2+ Broadband Dsl Modem - White and tried it out for a week, still not great internet access. returned modem and contacted centurylink and bought a new updated modem through them $99.99. It work a lot better and faster.

Poor technical support & router conflict
