Good product, just not for normal home use...

Good modem but unless you're going to have multiple IP addresses from your ISP, this product unnecessary for normal homes. I wish Netgear did a better job at telling you that before purchasing, like "hey, if you're going to have a small business and have multiple IP addresses coming from your ISP this is good". Still, its good product just not for single IP homes.

Wan aggregation is having issues with this device and the SB8200 arris as well, after awhile the connection drops to 20mbps then you need to reset. Usually this occurs every 4-8hrs. If you simply disconnect the cable of one port and reconnect it is back to normal. On single port non aggregated mode the modem is flawless, operates at close to max theoretical speeds with fairly low latency.

I got this cable modem to replace xfinity's cable modem. It will save me $16 a month and will pay for itself in less than a year with a gift and sale price. Works great can't tell the difference.

At first I had some problems but I called CS and it was resolved in minutes. I love the speed I get with this thing it’s amazing!! I had a spectrum modem and felt like I was always in a buffering war!! I even upgraded my speeds with Spectrum and it was the router the whole time!! If your questioning if you should get it or not I highly recommend you do!

I got this modem to replace my net hear CM700, as the CM700 uses the dreaded Puma 6 chipset, and was failing frequently. I don’t have GB service yet, but I’m happy to feel somewhat future proofed for when my provider finishes deploying GB in my area. This modem works great, my only wish would be for a more robust web interface that gave better stats and info on the device.

The fact that this modem gives you 4 ports which aren’t behind a router is enough to buy this modem. If you’re a gamer with multiple consoles this is excellent. I hardwire my Xbox One X and PS4 Pro without dealing with them being behind a router where I have to adjust various settings. It also supports the fastest speeds that most network providers support. It’s pricey, but it’s well worth it!

    Many uncorrectables and errors

I upgraded to this modem at the start of the COVID lockdown. Had been working fine until this past November. I had many (thousands) of uncorrectables, lots of lag, and multiple loss of internet lasting as long as 30 min needing a modem reboot. I thought that the unit went bad so I replaced with the exact same modem (CM1200). My problems did not resolve so I exchanged with anothr one (on 3rd unit)! I had a Comcast/Xfinity tech come to check my system but he could not find anything wrong. He said that he researched my modem and problems associated with it before coming to my house. He found many complaints exactly as mine. He said that eventhough the box said it was compatibe with Xfinity, Netgear contacted them to say there was a problem with the modem & they are working on a fix. He suggested to buy another brand (Arrxx). In his experience, they are "rock solid" and has hardly any problem with Xfinity system. I bought their latest modem (S33) and have had ZERO uncorrectables, log errors, and disconnects! I gave 2 stars because the CM1200 had LAN port aggregation (802.3ad), not to be confused with WAN Aggregation. The S33 doesn't :( With the original unit, I found that the extra ethernet ports on the CM1200 allowed me to attach an ethernet switch. When the problems started to happen, I could not use the extra ports on the back of the CM1200. I could only use it for WAN Aggregation. Note that I pressed the reset button on the back of both units and it did not help. I suspect a firmware update had closed that option and also started all the problems. I have had problems with Netgear Orbi routers (RBS850) also so I will be staying away from this brand.

Overall really good modem, gave me the speed I actually pay for I have xfinity and was looking for an alternative to replace the crappy one they give you. Only draw back is I can only connect one device that will have internet at a time (currently don’t have a router YET but will be purchasing one soon) aside from that totally worth the price so far

The modem was easy to install and once my service provider switched service to it's MAC Address & S/N it was working within a few minutes. It was the only DOCSIS 3.1 modem that I could find that had more than one ethernet ports (it has 4), I need that because I have some items that need to be connected directly to my modem and not the router connected to the modem.

Replacing Xfinity's Rental Modem with my own was on the Bucket List for a bit. I took the plunge for the Nighthawk DOCSIS 3.1 & it's amazing. Very easy to configure with the App, and I saw a good surge in my Downstream Rate. I had a few configuration issues with my LinkSys Router, but it was easy once I calibrated correctly. Their Tech Support Line is very good for a large Company.

Great cable modem. Upgraded from an old docsys 3.0. I now get close to 1GB download speeds with XFINITY. Pretty easy to set up. With XFINITY, you will want to make sure to have a cell phone or tablet or something else with its own internet connection so you can register the device to your account.
