The other ports can only be used if your ISP allows multiple external IP addresses, which in case, you would need another router connected to port 2 for example, if your ISP allows 2 external IP addresses. Again, this is a modem only and does no DHCP. It must be used with a router connected to port 1. Just an FYI for the naive audience out there like me, you may need to call your internet provider to set this modem up PROPERLY. Okay after my wife informed me to call our ISP ,installation was a breeze. This is a very simple to install ( after ISP is informed ) and works seamlessly with our provider and our router. It is running a 1GB service without issues and has never blinked an LED in doing so. I do recommend this product especially for the higher capacity internet users out there it's well worth the investment.

Works well I had it for about 3 months almost and no issues with gaming I own a Xbox series x and s both which get a nat type open with the router I purchased from bestbuy also (ASUS ROG rapture gt-AX11000) gaming router . I will recommend it to anyone who owns a Xbox and that’s looking for a nat type open for them. Also gaming is smooth. I do a lot research before I buy so I know this was the perfect match for my small apartment.setup was a breeze u can use the app or a computer I prefer computer setup it’s more secure .speeds are more then my 1 gig from my provider.

I got this to replace my Comcast Xfinity modem that I was paying $15 per month on. Overall the modem works well and I am happy with the product but there are some annoyances. I got it on sale and it was well worth the sub $100 price. For that price, I feel it is a steal. Setup was easy. I called Comcast and gave them the MAC address and setup took 15 mins. There is no wifi on this device and it requires a WiFi router. Not a problem for me as I have Google wifi and just needed the modem. Handles Comcast system well and I got 300Mpbs speed which is what I am paying for. All worked as expected. The reason for the 4 stars is because it took me a while to get the WiFi router connected. After some research I realized that I can only added the WiFi router to the 1st Ethernet port. The others do not work for a router or switch. This seems silly to me. If you need the 4 ethernet ports on the back and a WiFi router than this will not work for you. I have a bunch of Ethernet devices so now I have to buy a larger Ethernet switch to handle them. All in all not a bad thing and given the price of the unit, it is well worth it.
