Bought this for Comcast and it was very easy to setup. Just plug it in and follow the directions to activate it through Comcast's portal. Didn't have to talk to anyone from Comcast. I'm currently paying $70/month and I didn't want to pay the extra $10 rental fee. I sold my soul and locked in that price for 3 years. This modem and a good ac1900 router will pay for themselves after 1.8 years for me. The throughput on the modem is great, I'm getting the most out of my internet speed. I posted screen shots of a few speed tests. Since this is the only DOCSIS 3.1 modem on the market, at the time of writing this review, it is quite expensive. Luckily there was a promotion with VISA checkout and I had some rewards to use, this came down to a decent price. Because of the price, I wouldn't recommend this modem if you're internet speed isn't over 200-300mbs down. You may get incremental increases, but it wouldn't justify paying so much more for this modem compared to a good 3.0 DOCSIS modem.

I had been using a Cisco modem with a TP-Link Archer C7 router for quite a few years, then decided to run some speed tests on it. They were good, and I was happy with the performance. However, saw there were some new modems out there, and maybe I could squeeze more speed out of one of those - if it wasn't better I'd return the new one and continue with what I had. Well, this Netgear is like a device out of Star Trek - it's heads, tails, and a mountain faster than the old Cisco I had. It wasn't cheap, but I'd buy it again in a second, and have recommended it to all my colleagues. I don't have any super-high-speed plan, but once I hooked this modem up and ran Speedtest, I was getting approximately 575 mbits/sec sustained downloads! Uploads weren't much different, but no one expects them to be. The key to satisfaction for me is download speed, and I couldn't be more satisfied with this modem. It looks nice, doesn't give me any problems with Xfinity - IT JUST WORKS AND WORKS FAST! I'd recommend this unit to anyone who wants to make their Internet work fly! Besides that, I no longer pay a rental fee for the modem - BONUS!!!

Stay ahead of the game with this modem. As more bandwidth becomes less expensive, removing any bottle necks in your own system is imperative. This modem, combined with a high speed router ensures that you’re getting the most performance out of your monthly internet costs. A much better choice and setup than the stand alone modem/router box most people rent from their cable provider. In short order, it pays for itself since you’re saving that monthly rental fee, all while you enjoy an enhanced and faster internet experience.

This device is simple, reliable (so far), and extremely easy to set up. The GUI interface is a breeze to go through. It's a bit pricey, but for the small size, light weight, and gigabit speed, you can't go wrong. I've only owned it for about a month, so I can't say anything yet about how many months or years it will last.

Easy to setup, clear instructions, and a huge improvement in speed over my last modem. It's been flawless so far.

The Netgear cm1000 is an outstanding modem. It's 32 by 8 DOCSIS 3.1 allows for up to 6 Gigabytes Downstream and 1.8 gigabytes Downstream This unit is 10 times faster than the previous 16x4. I highly recommend the modem to anybody that plays games or enjoys home movies.

Getting speed tests in the upper-800s to over 900 but that is probably below it's full capability due to our internet plan and provider. Easy to set up and no issues so far.

I got this due to my Spectrum modem always failing. So after initial hookup (super easy) there was a big difference. Speed was most notable. I went from an average 150 to 200 gbps to an average of 350 to 450 depending on time of day. I've had no outages or interruptions liked the old. Such a good idea of getting my own modem. This operates smoothly and no issues what so ever.

Spectrum increased our speed in my area from 100mbps to 400mbps. This was beyond the capability of my old modem, so this was my replacement. Installation was a direct replacement, and I spent a little time on the phone with Spectrum tech support to get things working. I have had no issues and get the full 400mbps (almost 500 actually). It would be nice if it were less expensive, but I’m hoping this will sustain me for the next couple of years.

This is the exact model that optimum uses for their service, the only difference is I own my equipment instead of renting theirs. I also learned a cap their service on their equipment even though they’re not supposed to. Once I got my own equipment I stopped having issues with service that I was having while using their equipment. This is a very good quality device and I absolutely recommend it to anybody that’s looking to purchase one

This cable modem replaced my old (fried by lightning storm) C7000 24x8 DOCSIS 3.0 cable modem router combo. I am almost thankful for the lightning storm because this modem somehow allows me to squeeze several Mb/s more out of the same internet plan. Don't know how that was possible, but I maintain consistently higher speeds than before. I do have this modem paired with an Orbi (AC3000) wifi router and it's the perfect combo, for my household! If you're looking for a new DOCSIS 3.1 cable modem to replace yours and need one that will be future proofed for the next several years with Gigabit and under speeds, this is definitely worth the cost. Happy shopping!

I recently upgraded my internet to gigabit through xfinity and I needed a gigabit modem, I have purchased the Arris SB8200 because they are a known good brand and it was the brand I have been using, once I made the purchase, I tested my speed and it is getting no where half the gigabit when I am wired to my router. The netgear one had better review all over but I though arris was find so I sticked to the brand, boy I was wrong. I should have gone with netgear from the start since I have a x10 nighthawk router and probably should pair with the netgear brand. Once I returned the arris modem and picked up this netgear modem, I tested the speed and I am not getting 940mbps wired and around 600mbps, this is the modem to get if you have gigabit internet.

I purchased this on 1/26/2021 because I had an ARRIS SB6190 that was running into the Puma bug very bad. I had no issues activating it on suddenlink. Ran a Speedtest and am getting way better results than the arris 6190. I have the 1 GB internet plan from suddenlink

Comcast has upgraded their internet service to DocSIS 3.1 and in order to get the best service you'll need to pick up one of these bad boys. Easy installation and blazing fast speeds. I have more systems in my home than the average tech-ie and I'm not slowing at all even when everything is going at once. I'm very happy with my purchase.

This was a replacement modem for the same one that went out all flashing lights orange/amber this was exactly one year to the date of purchase. Cox Cable had a outage in my area that day and my modem went out so on I go to Best Buy to buy a new one before they closed. New Modem Setup was easy since I was replacing the same model , but had to Chat with Cox Cable no more talking with a live person on the phone took 1/2 hour to have them setup on there end. Next day no internet connection had to reboot modem. Since then modem has been running fine for 4 weeks no issues so far will see in 11 months when warranty expires.

I had a Motorola SB6141 who worked very well for the last 4 years but for some weird reason about two weeks ago my Comcast internet speed went down from 265Mbps to 138Mbps. After chatting with Comcast CS for about 1 hour the problem persisted so they scheduled a technician to come in a few days. I know my internal wires are fine so I thought it must be the modem. After some research I decided to pull the trigger on the Netgear CM1000 and oh boy, what a pleasure to see my speed not only coming back to the 200's but also increased from 138Mbps to 298Mbps even that I'm in the 250Mbps plan. This is definitely a must have even if you only need DOCSIS 3.0.

I bought this because my current internet service provider was charging me monthly for a lesser quality router. Ever since I made this purchase, I have had ZERO performance issues and I couldn’t be happier.

I have Cox 300mps and a Nighthawk AC3600 router in my basement. Upstairs in my livingroom I ping 244mps to my Galaxy7 thru WiFi. Cox is going to have Gigabit speed, to my home, over coax in 2 years or less. So when my 8 channel Netgear modem couldn't keep up with 300mps I upgraded to this docsis 3.1 so I'll be ready for Gigabit. Plus the 32 channel makes my 300mps sing! Stream 4k HDR from YouTube and Netflix no problem. I was looking at the Arris but I have no experience with them and since it was just bought out I'm not to sure.
