I bought this modem 4-25-21 and today's date is 5-31-23. The ENTIRE time, we've had almost NO issues. Internet has been steady with internet only being affected by weather, etc. However, 5-28-23 we started to have problems with our internet where it would slow down to almost a screeching halt, and then shut off for a couple hours. Turns out, that this modem was outdated and therefore no longer reliable to be used as our modem, and checking Netgear websites for firmware/software update, there's absolutely none. The modem lasted for 2 years with no main concerns, and even the small ones, not even worth mentioning. I highly recommend it, but keep in mind that there's no software updates for it, so your internet company may tell you it's too outdated to be used. I still recommend getting it. But I'd also recommend going for the CM 2000-100NAS since it's only 50 bucks more and it's more up-to-date than this one is.

    Solid modem

This modem is solid. I don't have issues with it. The only times I restart it is if there are issues with my provider. If the provider internet goes down, the modem can restore communications when it comes back without having to intervene. I've seen over 1 Gbps internet speeds with a wired connection.

This has done exactly what I've needed it to. Installation was as simple as connecting power and cable, then running ethernet to my router. No configuration necessary to work with my Xfinity service right out of the box. I've had no issues with slow speed nor dropped connections.

I bought this wifi modem to replace spectrum standard modem, oh boy.... I definitely noticed the big difference! I’m very satisfied with this product. I definitely recommend this wifi modem if you are looking for something fast easy to install at your home. FYI after installing your new modem make sure to call your cable provider so they can register the modem into your account.

This isn't the most expensive modem for sale, but it offers the 3.1 service that our ISP requires to get the speed we want. And unfortunately, this is our 2nd modem. After 6 months of use, the first one died. But it died in a peculiar way. Still powers up, but our ISP (that big cable company) couldn't 'see' the modem. Had their tech out to check signal strength/noise/quality. Everything was fine. Even hooked up our 'old' motorola 3.0 modem and it worked fine, too. Netgear offers 90 days of free tech support. After 90 days, you pay And that includes warranty / equipment failures. When you're budgeting, don't forget tech support. They did waive that fee for me, but then tried to tell me it was an ISP problem because if the unit powered up, it worked. After I laughed at him, he spoke to a supervisor and RMA'd the non-working unit. Total time on the phone, 3.5 hours. We've had various net-gear products over the years. We have a netgear router, range extender, and this modem. We run all our networking devices on dedicated battery backups and for the most part, all of our netgear products have ran incident free until it was time to upgrade. But that wasn't the case with this modem.

Works great when your provider cooperates

This modem is works great, provided your internet provider cooperates with you bringing your own equipment. If you have Comcast/Xfinity, you'll want to be careful as they are currently having issues with customers who bring their own Netgear equipment. When their service works, this modem works great with an external router for wifi and delivers fast upload/download speeds. However, when Comcast/Xfinity pushes an update they run into issues with Netgear equipment leading to numerous calls with their overseas customer service who will likely redirect you to Netgear's customer service who will either direct you back to Comcast/Xfinity or try a sell you a service plan. Don't do either! Find the reset on your device and press it to restore your factory settings. That should correct the problem until the next network update push, then try this again.

Smooth & fast speeds and a great look. We have this set up on top of a bookshelf with the router it feeds. Great unobtrusive looks and the speeds are great after we switched from Xfinity to Spectrum in a recent move. Not sure if the provider is the reason for the improvement, but our router (Linksys Velop Pro 7) definitely like the signals from this modem better. On the old modem this router was fussy about how many ethernets it fed (we use as ethernet as much as reasonable to reduce signal interference in our house). Now the router is happy as a clam in water.

My ISP is very unreliable and cuts in and out frequently. This modem lets me view an outage from their dashboard without internet access and connects back to internet as soon as my ISP comes back up. I also get a full 1gbps delivered by my ISP. the first unit I got was doa, but my second works like a charm.

Pay the money for the extra performance and future upgrade ability. I paired the CM1200 with the Orbi AX6000 and the house has 100% coverage of the fastest internet speeds ever. I saved modem rental money from Xfinity and improved my performance at the same time. Worth it.

I’m not a big gamer or streamer, but when I do want to watch tv while others were surfing, I don’t want to see buffering. I had an older ARRIS modem that I had to restart constantly, so I looked for a modem that would last into my next speed upgrade - or two! Having the 4 Ethernet ports was something that really interested me as well. The icing on the cake was the sale price. Works with Mediacom - even though they don’t list it in their supported devices list, yet. Super simple setup with the Mediacom tech.

I replaced an older ARRIS cable modem with the CM1200. What a difference! Very simple to install and activate with Comcast. My connection is faster and more reliable since the upgrade! I chose Netgear because I have been pleased with the RAX12 router. Netgear is my go-to brand now!

Has been up and running now for 15 days with 0 down time and 0 drops. Speeds are consistent @ ~450mbps. Only time will tell if it'll last as long as my previous Arris Surfboard SB6183. Setup is extremely easy and it supports link aggregation.

I bought this to replace a 7 year old Motorola. This modem was easy to set up and works much faster than my old one. I’m downloading at 900-1000 mbps though Ethernet and 400-500 mbps wireless with cable internet. Very happy.

Fantastic speeds! I am loving this modem! I was renting a DOCSIS 3.1 from Cox and after convincing the wife to spend $200, we got it. It pays for itself within a year and a half! Stop the rentals and buy one! It's super easy to setup and get online within 5 minutes (for me that is) Speeds I get based on Speedtest is 989 down, 39.5 up. With the Cox Panorama modem I got 770 down and 35 up. If you have the know-how, try unlocking the modem only to test its full capabilities! I wont say how to do it, but I was getting 1900 down and 443 up! I locked it after the test since Cox monitors these sort of things, but its nice to know its ready for the above 1000Mbps service coming soon!

I have Mediacom for service with the 1 Gbps service. Since replacing their modem with my own I get much more stable speeds and connection. Average down ranges between 650 Mbps (Peak), and 875 Mbps (Off Peak), and 50 Mbps Up and often 60 to 70 Mbps up which is more than what I should get. I paired this with the ASUS AX5400 (AX82U), which gives me fast speeds all over my home and even 60 yards away out by my Chicken Coop even. The only con I will say is this modem while it has 4 ports on the rear, only 1 is active and can be used.
