I agree that this one falls mostly on me... I did some research before buying this modem, in particular on Netgear site. For some reason I got stuck on the fact that the modem has 4 Ethernet ports. I thought "great, I'll be able to plug my wifi router as well as my backup devices directly on the modem". Wrong! Rookie mistake. The additional ports are either to achieve a 2 Gbps link to a compatible Wifi Router (provided that you have a multi-gig connection with your internet provider), or to support multiple public IP with a Comcast Business account. Having neither of them, I was only able to plug my wifi router to a single port, and I paid for 3 unused (and unusable by me) Ethernet ports :-)

Purchased this item to replace my outdated Arris cable modem and to avoid the costly cable rental fees. I've paired this device with the Netgear AX1800 Wifi 6 router and get excellent 2G/5G coverage throughout the entire home without the use of a network extender. I would highly recommend this product.

Easy to use, set up manage and great telephone support.

IN MY OPINION IT IS THE BEST MODEM AVAILABLE FOR HOME USE AND IS FUTURE PROOF SO A NEW ONE WILL NOT BE NEEDED IN THE NEAR FUTURE TO KEEP UP WITH TECHNOLOGY. THE NIGHTHAWK APP FOR YOUR CELL PHONE ALLOWS FULL CONTROL OF ALL NETGEAR EQUIPMENT WHICH MAKES IT EXTREMELY CONVENIENT TO PRETTY MUCH CONTROL EVERYTHING REMOTELY FROM THE APP.

Love this Modem, it made our daily cable and wifi use flawless

This modem is the last netgear product ill purchase. The modem itself has many flaws, a quick google search shows these things die in a year or less, and to those thinking oh theres a years warrenty, thats a full on lie. The products warrentied for a year but to get serviced has to be in 30 DAYS, otherwise to get the modem serviced youll have to pay 210$ to netgear for the gearhead support, to make a simple warrenty claim. Phone supports also complete trash. This is rediculous and on all netgear products. Do yourself a favor, burn your netgear products and get a moterola mb8600 instead. Save yourself the headache and do your research.
