    Dead after 16 months, save your money

    This modem lasted 16 months before refusing to connect whatsoever. Even when the cable tech connected directly to the modem, it refused to send the appropriate signals. Of course, the warranty is already expired, so now I have an expensive paperweight. It appears all of the reviews on here are all shorter term reviews. It was great at first, but these devices should last a lot longer than 16 months.

    I bought this at a Best Buy employee recommendation with an AMPLIFI ALIEN 6 router. I can’t get them to connect to each other and Best Buy requires me to spend $150 for an installation to help me. Not a good option. It is difficult to set up. I’m used to setting things up myself and I expected it to be easy. It wasn’t easy.

    The multiple ports do nothing for you unless you have multiple accounts from your ISP or business accounts. I also have to reset it about once a week because of poor output. Buy something else.

    I bought the Nighthawk CM1200 on September 28, 2019. I have never had a problem with it but I am giving it a 1 star rating just because it died May 19, 2021. It did not last even 2 years. I am replacing it with the ARRIS SBV3202. At least ARRIS has a 2 year warranty and this model is $50 cheaper than the Nighthawk.

    Failed after 7 months

    Spotty connection to internet for 6 months then it finally just failed. I installed a new Arris 6190 and have had no problems since. Note: you get 90 days of phone support from Netgear. After that if the issue is firmware, you have to pay for support, and you cannot update the firmware on your own.

    Issues with upstream

    Had cable tech out troubleshooting issues after modem was provisioned. Upstream light would just flash. Read where this is an issue with netgear, returned for refund after two days.

    Netgear CM-1200 - dont buy it

    Netgear Nighthawk CM-1200 was a huge disappointment had to return because it kept dropping the internet connection. After checking connections, being on the phone with Netgear returned it and gotr the Arris SB8200 DOCSIS 3.1 32x8. The ARRIS works great and LESS money. BTW Best Buy was great to deal with

    Turns of wifi every day , have to manually reset. So there goes my wifi security, off for half a day.

    Modem worked fine foe about 2 months. Out of no where losses connection from ISP. ISP came 3 times, 2nd time even replaced my cable to the pole, 3rd time gave me a different modem to try out. The problem of internet dropping went away with swapped out modem. Netgear doesn't seem to believe their product was at fault and refuses to replace at 2 1/2 months

    connected to xfinity gigabit service for about a month and then it stopped working. try various things including have comcast come out. They said there is a problem with the modem. 600m works but slower.

    This is the worst modem ever! I’m constantly having to restart it because speeds are slow. Too bad I can’t exchange this $200 mistake! Should have stuck with Surfboard brand. That modem was amazing.

    This modem wouldn’t communicate with the router that was made by the same company. My internet provider even had issues accessing it

    Have had nothing but problems with this router. Keeps losing connection (10 times/day). ISP won't update firmware. Netgear Customer Service was horrible. And Best Buy's return period is 2 weeks. I'm done with Netgear and Best Buy.

    Not for Mediacom!!!

    I’m sure it is a nice modem, but it was a horrible failure with Mediacom’s fiber service. Web pages didn’t load any faster than DSL. The fiber service often dropped out for minutes, hours, or days. We swapped it for an Arris modem which is lightning fast and doesn’t drop out at all.

    I am having a strange problem, and Netgear tech support has been extremely unresponsive. My case has been escalated and I have heard nothing since. This is either defective or there is some kind of problem in software.

    Just got my new Spectrum install today 3/14/2020 and that modem does not work with this service. Installer worked with tech support, could not get this modem added.
