Excellent I recommend it. You get amazing internet speeds to reach what you’re paying for.

While people might fanboy over the nighthawk mid/high-split, its not worth the money. Not even 6 months after buying this unit the LED indicator lights started dying one by one. I'm only left with the warm feeling of the router to see if its working. When I initially purchased this in Sept 2024, I had a hard time getting it connected to my ISP. Lights were on but no-one was home. It wasn't until i started my free trial of the Netgear support that things started progressing. The first question the tech asked, "Is the Nighthawk connected directly to the wall or through a surge protector?" Well as anyone would naturally do to a $300 modem, you put it on the surge protector. I was instructed to plug it directly into the wall negating any surge protection that the modem might incur. So I'm not able to protect this modem from electrical inconsistencies, and now dealing with the repercussions of poorly designed systems that somehow a surge protector blocks the signal from the coax. Buyer beware, this isnt the answer for people who live in areas that get electrical storms.

I purchased a new NETGEAR - Nighthawk Mid/High-Split DOCSIS 3.1 Cable Modem and an Orbi 970 three pack (BOTH products made by the same company, Netgear, with a combined retail price of circa $2600). The Orbi 970 would not recognize the new Netgear cable modem. I then called Orbi technical support. Orbi technical support suggested that I first set up the modem with the Orbi 850 WiFi 6 mesh router that I was replacing. When I asked Orbi technical assistance to guide me though this setup so we could then set up the Orbi 970 router Orbi support wanted to charge me a technical support subscription fee because the Orbi 850 was out of warranty. This intermediary setup is what Orbi technical support suggested to be done because THEY couldn’t figure out how to set up a NEW Netgear cable modem with a NEW Netgear router. ABSOLUTELY OUTRAGEOUS! I hung up on the Orbi technical support bandit and figured out the setup myself. I concluded Orbi technical support primarily exists to market extended service contracts and collect paid consulting fees rather than help their customers, regardless of how much they just spent on their Netgear Orbi equipment.

Netgear provided support after installing. Wasn't aware that this service when purchasing it. It would have been nice to know that Netgear has technical support.

I bought this because our Xfinity Gateway just wasn't able to keep up anymore. I wish I would have switched sooner.

Excellent transmission faster with match Netgear cable modem and Nighthawk ( Netgear ) wifi

I bought this modem as an upgrade to my Netgear CM700 because Cox Communications informed me that the CM700 was bottlenecking my bandwidth. I never had an issue with the CM700, so I was expecting a similar experience here. Unfortunately, this modem had difficulty going "online" (the fourth LED down). I worked with 5 Cox technicians online, and finally, a Cox technician visited my house, and could not get it to work either. He suggested that I exchange it for another. The second one had the same trouble as the first one. I returned the second one, and bought the Arris Surfboard S33. That connected easily, and has worked flawlessly.

I specifically ask for a combination, modem router, and was given this modem only which I didn’t even look at because I thought the salesman handed me the correct item. I paid for it and left. Got home the next day got to reading it and found out it was not a combination unit so I took it back. I’m very disappointed in Best Buy.

Title: Buckle Up Buttercup Description: Way faster than my old modem. Easy setup. Plugged everything in, 3 minute phone call to the cable company to connect it to my account, and I was golden after that. Really nice when something works like it is supposed to. The only thing I wish it had was a way to wall-mount the router instead of it taking up real estate on my desk. First world problem though. Love my new router.

This would probable be a good product for a 1 gig or less service. I bought this unit when the sales person said that it would handle up to 2 gigs since I have a 1.5 gig service. I found it to be deceptive in advertising since you could not use this unit by itself to maximize the 1.5 gig service.

Lasted 6 months. Started having signal issues with the ISP connection, slow speeds, intermittent connection and having to reboot frequently. Replaced with a new modem of a different brand and boom every issue I was having was resolved and ISP said the signal between them and the modem was now strong.

Died after 6 months- stuck in a permanent rebooting loop--factory reset did not help. just terrible, Netgear is a pale shadow of what it used to be. Plugged in the old modem and all is well. Fortunately, I bought the insurance. Its going back!

Lasted 6 months, Netgear RMA process is slow and garbage. Xfinity just released a firmware that pretty much bricks these devices.

Product didn’t even last 9 months, this is my 3rd night hawk, don’t get me started with the 5 Orbi systems I’ve purchased with all the same results.

It was inoperable right out of the box! Terrible product.

It was simple to install and set up, immediately noticed the fast speed, everything's been working smooth. I wish I had changed to this modem long time ago, love it!

Great speed coming out of this unit. My Xfinity plan gives me 300 MBPS, and the unit was pumping 330 MBPS to my computer via ethernet cable.

Excellent modem and easy setup. I needed an upgrade to achieve higher upload speeds and the cm3000 worked great. I'm now getting 350mbps upload speed. Modem doesn't run hot either.
