I am using the Powerline to extend our wireless network into areas that I just cannot get to even with a extended range router. The setup and linking to the existing network was VERY easy and therefore painless for me. While the Netgear manual is online I actually did not have to refer to it as the included setup instructions were sufficient.

This device is great to connect devices that aren't receiving a good Wi-Fi connection. Since it has both Ethernet and Wi-Fi capabilities, I now have even better reception to all my devices throughout the house.

I bought this to extend my home intranet to a location outside the house to control a security web cam. I placed the receiving unit in a water proof box and it has functioned flawlessly since I installed it.

Guy at Best Buy assured us it would work well in basement, servicing 2 rooms downstairs. Unfortunately, the signal only reaches one of the bedrooms, so one of my girls still does not get internet to her smart tv., sometimes her phone too. Kept product anyway, as at least one of them can get service.

I picked this up so I could connect my PS4 directly with an ethernet cable(my router is downstairs) and it works perfectly. It also extended wifi range to the entire top floor/outside the house.

I bought this and the Actiontec to compare them. I went with the Actiontec because it turned out the extended wifi feature of this unit is a (very small) bit of a hassle in that it creates a new network SSID, and you have to change networks when you move about the house.
I only needed the network extension feature to connect a Tivo to my network that used to be wireless, and since this unit costs quite a bit more than the Actiontec, I returned it. But I tested it for 10 days and it was a solid performer. I got about 55-70Mbps when I connected my laptop and ran iperf (network performance test).
I docked 1 star because of the price and I didn't get to fully test the wifi, just saw that I didn't like the extra SSID. It *is* a good device if you need all the features, so yes I'd recommend it.

When I first installed the Netgear booster it worked fine. Within 3 weeks, however, the power outlet sources switched from good (Green)) to poor (Orange) and the MLB package now constantly freezes. I can accept if the internet gets weaker but nothing has changed with the power lines?

It worked as advertised but it didn't work for my application. I liked the versatility of the wifi or ethernet connection. I expected a little better signal strength for an extender but its the first one I installed. I had to return the product and used a different solution.

I got the power line adapter with the wifi access point and have the best of both worlds. The hardwire goes into my Apple TV while the wifi extender works beautifully to give me wireless access on the farthest point from my router

The Netgear Powerline Av 200 Wireless-N Extender Kit XAVNB2001 extends both your wired and wireless networks to the far corners of the house, hence an excellent product for any large dwelling or multi floors and walls. The kit has no power pass-through socket and needs to be plugged directly into the wall. As an access point, it doesn't support dual band. The kit's included adapters are also bulky and have only one Ethernet port each. The Netgear XAVNB2001 kit's setup instructions are not clear and you will need to fiddle with the setup process. Over all the Netgear Powerline Av 200 Wireless-N Extender Kit XAVNB2001 is a very good product, but Netgear need to make the instructions clear and concise and as a suggestion add a pass-through socket and support for dual band.
