I have been a custom A/V integrator and electrician for 30 years, this product is cool at first. It is easy to setup (maybe a bit to easy as it lacks many of the usual setup options for WAPS) and seems to work fine when you first set it up. The problem is that even if you plug both transceivers into the same outlet, on the same phase, I have never been able to get this set up to perform better than 6 megabits. I get nothing even remotely close to the claimed performance specs Worse still, is it has a tendency to hang the rest of the network in odd ways, similar to when there is an IP conflict. My current network setup tests at 30 megabits down and 1.6 megabits up without the AC1000 connected. with the AC1000 connected my upload speed can intermittently (for no apparent reason I can find) drop to zero and my download can drop to less than 10 megabits. if I unplug the AC1000 the problem corrects itself. I can find no plausible reason why this device behaves this way. I do not think it is defective as I have come across similar complaints posted. I think this product is simply poorly designed. I am hoping it is not to late to return or exchange it for something else that actually works?

Not necessarily the fault of the product, but it does not work well if the plugs are on different circuits in the house.

I needed to provide wireless access to the back end of an auto shop. There was no cabling and cinderblock walls to go through. I was skeptical about this, but the device worked perfectly! Easy setup. Just plug it in and follow the bouncing ball.
