I bought this to extend the range of my wifi in my new home. I have a basement office set up that is kind of far away from my router. I used this to extend the range and it works really well. I have my computer connected to it using the included ethernet cable and it also broadcasts a wireless signal that I can use for tablets/smartphones/laptops in my basement. It solved a lot of problems for me!

It worked the first minute I plugged it. First I tried in the same room as the primary router then in the farthest bedroom but same floor from the router ( after the kitchen and main bathroom ~ 22 yards in straight line between the two power inlets) for the same results and still the booting time for checking the signal strength. I was lucky the house wiring was good, i guess. Sometime the signal is stronger in the intermediate rooms than the primary router with Iphone and Ipad. So I also have wifi when I rest on the backyard deck. Real good purchase. I am looking to change standard passwords.

    Inconsistent performance

Tried this as an initial alternative to more expensive mesh-type extenders. I was told by the Best Buy tech that it would use the same SSID as my router without the "EXT" adder. Unfortunately that was not the case. You can set the SSID to the same as your home router, but then you are confused when using your devices as to which access point is actually connected. It still required the same constant checking of the WiFi settings to get consistently good performance throughout the entire house. Also, the wireless range seemed poor. Signal strength was weak less than 20 feet away from the wall wart. Also, the house wiring connection quality seemed to vary hourly. At times the quality was excellent. Other times it would experience dropouts and stalls. My power is all on the same phase in one breaker box, but I still experienced inconsistent performance from one end of the house to the other with the connection through the house wiring. Ultimately I decided to opt for the more expensive mesh-type extender which provided a true single, whole-house SSID with more consistent performance and better wireless signal strength.

I wasn't sure this would solve the problem of limited wifi signal in a basement 2 floors away from router. But it worked perfectly. And was very easy to install.

This item worth the cost when you need a better wifi signal in a basement room that has steel doors. Using the house wiring is a plus as it gets you a good signal when obstacals are in the way.}ie steel doors} There are no drop-outs of the wifi signal.

I have tried signal boosters in the past with no luck. I was VERY skeptical. However…. It worked like a charm. Blazing fast internet for gaming. Worth every penny. I cannot believe I did not try this sooner!

Installed in a detached guest house which had a seperate electrical panal but fed from the same source as the house. The plug checker showed red as in least powerful however the signal provides full bars on all my devices including phone, streaming boxes, computer, gaming, and tablet.

Good for getting past thick walls of older homes

My house is a thick brick-built house from the 1930s, and the upstairs rooms weren't getting a good Wi-Fi signal, so I bought this to bypass the thick walls/floors of downstairs to upstairs, using the house's existing electric wiring. Plugging one end to the router, then plugging it to the electrical outlet, and then plugging the antenna to the electrical outlet upstairs, all of a sudden the entire 2nd floor had screaming Wi-Fi speeds with no spottiness. This did the trick for our house's environment.

Extremely easy to set up and works as intended. It didn't boost my wifi speeds by as much as I had hoped, but the ethernet was really effective.

This item was a must for us we have tried many diffrent wifi range extenders but they don't like our crappy frontier routers. With this I can connect ethernet then plug in on the other side of the house some times it does drop signal but it doesn't happen all the time. If you have tried range extenders and they have been an issue try this.

My computer did get internet. The maximum speed I could get was close to 80 mbts, lower than the 150 (but spotty) that I was getting over normal Wifi. If that's all you want then it does work. Unfortunately, I have gigabit fiber and this product claims to provide up to gigabit speeds.

I was looking for a way to get internet upstairs. Our signal strength was very low! After plugging this unit in and about 5 min of setup my internet signal dramatically improved ! I can now stream movies on my bedroom whereas before I could not. Great product and works like a charm. Solved my problem without adding any problems!

I purchased this to use in a house where the modem and router are upstairs, speed at router is 5mbps with Cat5e, and there are usually 6-10 devices on the WiFi at one time which means beyond slow dial up internet. This allows me to have my own personal WiFi network and one wired connection directly into the router through the electrical wiring in the house. I always have 5mbps in the basement. Not sure what max speed this is actually capable of through house wiring due to incredibly slow internet from provider. But for my situation it is great.
